Of course not! Why is it that the NFL, NBA, et al get college students and their parents to pay for the training of people seeking a very lucrative career in professional sports? Now they want students and their parents to pay these individuals who have little apparent interest in receiving an education but are simply seeking a ticket to the major leagues. The professional sports industry should pay for its own personnel training and needed facilities, i.e. stadiums, the same as most other businesses.

Let us not totally discount players who do obtain their degree, especially among the lesser known players. I can list eight young people I know who took athletic scholarships and graduated. They knew going in they would never be “pro” status yet saw it as a way to receive the education they sought.
