Thanks for writing this. I’ve been frustrated for years trying to explain the border to republicans. The problem is FOX shows them out of date “ caravans” heading our way that never arrive. The media gins up stories about the border to get clicks and basic truths about immigration, who is coming how and why has been buried by a big orange blanket of lies. Those pitiful people, hobbling through water, mud, rain, dogs, wire, death traps, shots fired and universes of hate are clawing their way to survival. Their pockets are not jammed full of pills needles or bottles of drugs. That is stupid to believe that. I go there all the time. I wasn’t surprised when Gods Army didn’t find anything after driving all over the country. What I am seeing is single person lines , unless with child, quietly standing. Some praying, some trying to forget where they left which was 109 times worse than if they’d stayed home but of course they couldn’t. Americans need to drop our anti immigrant hollering and settle in for the long haul. At least 8 months and days from Biden bringing his bipartisan bill in Jan. All because Trump tells his toadies to stay home. For me, that did it. No more chitchat about immigration, republicans chose right in front of us all to kill a bill written by Sen Langston a Republican hard liner. They can’t be believed or trusted. Killing an immigration bill, they wrote…………They are not serious people.
