What do you use to tell time?

Wristwatch?

Cellphone?

Or a regular clock? 🤔

I haven't owned a wristwatch in decades. Since I've retired, mostly the window. These days for me it's either light or dark but I do look at the clock every once in awhile. I only look at my cell phone if it rings.

You should go to Zurich. Unless it has significantly changed there is a building where each floor is dedicated to a single Swiss watch vendor.

If you, truly, want the best watch in the world, it is the Patek Phillipe.

You know, I've been meaning to pick one of those up but I just haven't found time between errands.

Seriously, my father was into antique clocks. I got them when he died. I foolishly made one of the biggest mistakes and sold them.

Be glad you sold them. My non blood niece had to deal with moving my BFF out of her home. There was a 100 year old grandfather clock there. Absolutely no one made an offer.

The same thing applied to her casegoods furniture. All of it solid cherry and mahogany with nary an offer. She ended up handing it over to an auction house. She did receive something; however, nowhere near the worth.

If you have sterling silver, you are in a good position. She received a lot just for a sterling silver tray.

Well, now I don't feel so bad. I do have a sterling silver silverware. It's going to my first granddaughter when she gets married. I think I've opened the box twice in 40 years

I use mine quite often. I have breakfast silver, luncheon silver and dinner, and each set is a different pattern. My maternal grandmother ran a very formal home and brought those practices into our home. We had my maternal grandmother and two paternal great aunts with us.

The household I grew up in had alot of peanut butter and TV dinners. Not much use for formal.
