I noticed a lack of any evidence about this claim. Last November the NY times published an article in November titled "Why are so many Venezuelan immigrants coming to America?" It seems that they are unable to attain a stable job situations in Latin America and are coming here for economic reasons.

It seems? Damn you're dumb. I have an office employee who's wife is from Venezuela. She still has some family there and they told her under no circumstances take any one in from Venezuela that you don't personally know. How many have you taken in? What does it matter anyway? Economic hardship is not a reason for asylum. We have plenty of poor here, and as long as Democrats run the show we will have even more.

I decided to fact check. I searched for "Venezuela releases prisoners" and I got an article from the Austin American Statesman dated in 2022 about this. They traced this back to Breitbart News and The Epoch Times claims of Venezuela releasing prisoners. Both these sources are very iffy if not outright lies. The paper did not find any other evidence of this claim.
