I think the article had a lot of words that really told us nothing specific. Unless or until you see the actual details of what was agreed to in the meeting, nothing has changed. Johnson still doesn't appreciate the leverage he holds. Shutting down 20% of government activity until the border problem is corrected would be supported by the majority of Americans.

What this country needs right now is a warrior. The Democrat-Communist Party/American-Left have been fighting the majority of the American people trying to force that evil fails-every-time-it's-tried Left-Wing system of governance on a populace that doesn't want it. A well meaning negotiator is always a good person to have around...but for what this country faces...right now...it's not enough. Left-Wing style slavery to the almighty state, (with themselves in charge of course) is what's at stake. They have lied/cheated their way into power and have been rotting-out our system for decades. Strong/decisive action...not legislative compromise is what's needed. The spineless Republicans, have been compromising with Democrat-Communists for decades...to be colligate/accommodating/bi-partisan. The Democrat-Communists never compromise...they just keep chipping away at the foundations of the country year after year...and the Republicans, for the most part are either too spineless---(or they have been corrupted themselves), to even make the public aware of what an outrage this is...and what they plan to do about it.

I'm guessing it'll be more of the same meaning nothing substantial will happen and both will claim 'progress'. This would be the time for the House to push for serious cuts in 'feel good' and questionable programs and force agencies to trim the fat.

I think if the Republicans shut down the government, they will pay a high price in November. I think the Biden Johnson talk they had together was fruitful, and not desperate.

I'm hoping you're wrong on the meeting. I'm REALLY hoping that Johnson doesn't turn out to be another McCarthy or McConnell.

What do you think about stand alone bills? Then if someone wants to study or do something really stupid, they'll have to ask for it by itself?
