The Boy Who Went to Heaven...Didn't!

This just in the boy who, after being in a coma after a horrible accident, claimed to have gone to heaven recanted his story saying it wasn't true causing the publisher to pull his book:

NPR wrote:
Nearly five years after it hit best-seller lists, a book that purported to be a 6-year-old boy's story of visiting angels and heaven after being injured in a bad car crash is being pulled from shelves. The young man at the center of The Boy Who Came Back from Heaven, Alex Malarkey, said this week that the story was all made up.

The book's publisher, Tyndale House, had promoted it as "a supernatural encounter that will give you new insights on Heaven, angels, and hearing the voice of God."

But Thursday, Tyndale House confirmed to NPR that it is taking "the book and all ancillary products out of print."

The decision to pull the book comes after Alex Malarkey wrote an open letter to retailer LifeWay and others who sell Christian books and religious materials. It was published this week on the Pulpit and Pen website.

As are all such stories. It is appointed unto a man, once, to die. Then the Judgement. You can't go to Heaven unless you die. Period. And there is no coming back from death.

So you don't think god could send someone back from heaven? A lot of people believed this kid!

He wasn't dead. The Bible is clear on this. You don't go to Heaven, or Hell, until you're dead.

When such stories of going to heaven or hell are reported and or printed up, I very seldom (if ever) look them up as much of what is said about them at their release does not ring true to scripture.

However, don't be too quick to judge that one can't go to heaven before dying as scripture makes note of several exceptions:
1. "And Enoch walked with God and was not for God took him." Genesis 5:24
2. "...and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind." II Kings 2:11
3. Paul knew a man [whether talking about himself or another is conjecture] who was taken to the third heaven. II Corinthians 12:2
4. John himself was taken in the spirit directly to the throne room of God in heaven. Revelation 4:1-2
5. Then there is coming a time (probably very soon) when the last trump of the Lord shall sound and hundreds of thousands of believers will be instantly translated (without dying) into the heavenlies. I Corinthians 15:52-53; I Thessalonians 4:16-17

Aside from the above noted exceptions, scripture is so true when, as you have said, it is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. Hebrews 9:27

I believe it should have been understood that God can do whatever He wants. What I meant was that in the normal course of events people don't go to Heaven unless they're dead. There is no indication of Divine intervention in this case, nor any others I've heard about. Therefore, it is most likely to be bogus.
