Ok, so I live roughly a mile and a half, or two miles as the crow flies from the news station I'm watching. After a calm day, about 65 degrees, there is a cold front coming. I'm good with that. It's Winter, it happens.
Well, it rolled in with a blast of wind about 35mph. Temp dropped 10 degrees in a few minutes.
Now. This moron comes on the news cast about 10 minutes later showing his computer models saying we should expect this front to come through in the next couple of hours. It's FREAKING here!! Go stick your head outside before going on the air for crying out loud!!

Perfect example of why this "global warming" "climate change" stuff is just pure garbage. They look at computer models instead of going outside, and taking a look for themselves.

Computer models........pffffffftttttt!!!!

I have watched local news outlets give inaccurate info for years. Any news story that I had information about almost always contained inaccurate details about the story being reported.

If real people made this many errors, they’d be fired.

I like that the weather is getting warmer. I moved to the warmest winter weather in Southern Ontario. Seldom snows, coldest it might get occasionally is 15f. General above 0c day time and slightly below freezing overnight.

I just looked up your weather. You'll be just below freezing in the morning. By about 17 degrees.
And, by the way, Riley. You missed the entire point of my post, as usual.
All this crap is based on computer models which are wrong more than they are right.

If you buy this climate change garbage, you are truly the fool I think you are.

I have the same doubts as you do about modelling. The weather is very reactive multiple influences and very difficult to predict.

Have we messed with the environment more than the other intelligent inhabitants of planet earth, say whales and chips etc? How much. Ice is melting.

Where there is oil was tropical at one time. We have occupied but a minute on Earth’s clock.

The change for me is not really noticeable. We adapt much quicker then plants and animals which have been around much longer.

I do buy the climate change nonsense. We are messing with both the atmosphere, with the addition of our waste and the typography, acres of asphalt.

Is change in weather patterns constant, absolutely. River bed changes course due to erosion. Local weather changes minutely.

I like the change. I used to prune an entire orchard in the winter before I moved to about as far south as I could get. The farm was in the London snow belt.

Dangerous climate change!!! The end of civilization!!!!

We were warned:

Scientists seeking funding and journalists seeking an audience agree: panic sells.
“Global cooling is going to kills us all!” “No, wait: global warming is going to kill us all!”
Here's the list - an amazing chronology of the last 120 years of scare-mongering on climate
1895 - Geologists Think theWorld May Be Frozen Up Again – New York Times, February 1895
1902 - “Disappearing Glaciers…deteriorating slowly, with a persistency that means their final annihilation…scientific fact…surely disappearing.” – Los Angeles Times
1912 - Prof. Schmidt Warns Us of an Encroaching Ice Age – New York Times, October 1912
1923 - “Scientist says Arctic ice will wipe out Canada” – Professor Gregory of Yale University, American representative to the Pan-Pacific Science Congress, – Chicago Tribune
1923 - “The discoveries of changes in the sun’s heat and the southward advance of glaciers in recent years have given rise to conjectures of the possible advent of a new ice age” – Washington Post
1924 - MacMillan Reports Signs of New Ice Age – New York Times, Sept 18, 1924
1929 - “Most geologists think the world is growing warmer, and that it will continue to get warmer” – Los Angeles Times, in Is another ice age coming?
1932 - “If these things be true, it is evident, therefore that we must be just teetering on an ice age” – The Atlantic magazine, This Cold, Cold World
1933 - America in Longest Warm Spell Since 1776; Temperature Line Records a 25-Year Rise – New York Times, March 27th, 1933
1933 – “…wide-spread and persistent tendency toward warmer weather…Is our climate changing?” – Federal Weather Bureau “Monthly Weather Review.”
1938 - Global warming, caused by man heating the planet with carbon dioxide, “is likely to prove beneficial to mankind in several ways, besides the provision of heat and power.”– Quarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society
1938 - “Experts puzzle over 20 year mercury rise…Chicago is in the front rank of thousands of cities thruout the world which have been affected by a mysterious trend toward warmer climate in the last two decades”
https://710wor.iheart.com/featured/mark-simone/content/2019-10-08-the-list-of-120-years-of-climate-scares-by-scientists/

And so it continues....

I like global warming. As one of my friends says about me, I would be happy in a pizza oven. It hasn't broken 32 degrees in a couple of days here, but the ice on the river is only out about 30 feet or so. If this was 20 years ago, ice would have covered the whole river, and those pesky ski-doos would be going down the ice. Now we have peace and quiet. Forcast is to warm up next week. There are some perks of global warming.

We have 5" of snow and it's still snowing. Hasn't snowed that much around here in the last 12 years.

I thought it was climate change, since the whole warming part has been debunked. You, and Riley need to get with the program here. It's climate change now.
If it's hot, cold, rains, snows, windy, no wind, tornados, hail, tropical storms, hurricanes, fog, morning dew, a beautiful sunset, sunrise.
It's all CLIMATE CHANGE.
None of these things have EVER happened before Brock, the African Obammy got a hold of the bully pulpit.
And now, idiots all over the place eat it up like a Hershey bar.
If you're going to be an advocate for this bovine scat, the least you could do is get the terminology correct.
