The well documented systemic racism in the US puts members of the black community at a disadvantage in everyday life whether driving a car,applying for a job or just walking down the street.
My guess is not one Capital rioter was ever pulled over because of the color of their skin. I'd also venture to say not one of those Capital rioters had a white relative or friend shot and killed by police! (Personally I read news everyday,and weekly leading up to George Floyd killing I read of black men being shot and killed but confrontations with whites rarely end with police killing white individuals?)
Polarization in politics can only get worse when false narratives are promoted as an answer for the wrong doings of those who perceived themselves as being wronged on the words of one man.
One group wakes at a disadvantage daily due to color of their skin and systemic racism and daily if they are male,young and black they may die by simply stating they have constitutional rights to freedom from illegal search and seizure in their pursuit of The American Dream.
These Capital rioters had no regard for the Authority on site,they had the resources to travel to interrupt for the first time in 250 yrs the peaceful transfer of power of this great nation.
The Respect for the office of the Presidency as well as SCOTUS are now very much diminished! Politics in America is more about a political party winning power and control to be able to place far right people on the highest Court in the land. Thank the Federalist Society as the fruits of their labors and plans continue coming to fruition. Its minority rule,look no further than abortion where on any day you do a poll 60% of the country wants it legal to access. The Federalist Society made it possible to get rid of the precedent of Roe V Wade.
