Have you heard the new term "Dink?"

Dual income, no kids" (DINK) is a slang phrase for young folk's households in which there are two incomes and who mutually agree to refuse to have children. "Live the good life," no responsibilities to children, self-absorbed, self-centered, selfish, no 2:00 AM feedings, no changing nappies or burps on a clean shirt or worrying when one of them is sick. Little kids = little problems. Big kids can = Big problems. Birthing children doesn't make us love them. Both caring for and taking care of children is what makes us love them - it's natural. Just as I think nothing can surprise me more than I already am, then everyday it's something new and obscene. DINK!

There are several denominations, mine included, where if a young couple of child bearing age came for marriage counseling and told me they had decided to never have children then they could not receive the sacrament of Holy Matrimony, their marriage would not be "lawful" before God. They could go to a Justice of the Peace and receive a "legal" marriage. Jesus approved of marriage. His very first miracle was at a wedding where He and His little Apostolic Band attended. They didn't yet have a drummer. I digress.
