Santos should not have been expelled.
George Santos, one of the biggest liars in congress was expelled from congress. I think the guys a compulsive, unhinged liar. However; in America every American deserves due process. Santos didn't receive it. He's charged with fraud and in my opinion is guilty. Unlike the members of congress I do not consider myself judge and jury. I believe he has the right to his day in court and if found guilty, then expel him. If he was expelled simply for being a liar he should have a lot a company. Schiff and Swalwell come to mind. Democrats are really good at condemning someone before they are found guilty. Especially if that someone is of the other party.

Guilt by accusation was the rule in the Reign of Terror and a very dangerous threat to freedom.

The decision to remove Santos was a bad mistake. He has been convicted of nothing. This move sets a very dangerous precedent.
The people in his electorate should be the ones to recall him if they are unhappy with him. I do know that the Bidenistas are overjoyed with his removal because it will allow Newsome to appoint a democrat replacement for Santos.
When is Menendez going to be removed? He has been convicted!

By the time he faces trial his term would be over. We need to invest in expediting criminal trials to within 90 days of indictment. There is no need to let this stuff drag out.

Newsome is the Governor of California and Santos is from New York. There will be a special election to replace him.

What about those held without indictment or trial?

Santos is from New York so Newsom has no input. Besides, there will be a special election, I believe in January to determine who represents that district.

I agree. However; as usual you are disingenuous. I never hear you complain when the delay would benefit the Democrats.

You can bet your sweet bippy that Long Island learned their lesson with Santos and will elect a Democrat.

Just say another queer and move on.
Biden told far bigger lies to get elected, repeating the accusation that Trump had called "Fine people on both sides" in Charlottesville with out including his immediately following repudiation of white racists, and claiming his son's laptop was Russian disinformation". He should have been removed first.

If you read my posts on several occasions I have said that a big solution to the refugee issue is to increase the number of immigration courts and speed up asylum hearings. Our courts move far to slowly. If you are referring to the insurrectionists being held before trial they had a right to a swift trial that many waved, the reason why is beyond me but the call of them and their council.

Other than Gitmo, who are you referring to?

My bad, I had gas pains and Newsome slipped out. I meant the crazy lady, Hochul from NY. Which I understand will be a special election. I would like to see Santos run for the seat again.
