I hope I can remember next year to tell them that someone thought our get together was creepy. They will appreciate the humor.

For what it's worth Gracie, I didn't find it 'creepy' at all. Remembering and reminiscing about the departed is a wonderful way to spend an evening or night. Good for you.

I hope yours was as pleasant as mine. My grandson was asleep in the basement, and I was upstairs with all the friends I have spend past New Years Eves with. I remembered them, I smiled, and I laughed. So long as I remember them, they are not really dead.

I'm glad yours was good!! You are a sweet gal, and you deserve it!!
Wish mine was as peaceful. We came home from work to a watery nightmare. Our water heater gave up, and what a treat it has been!
LOL!! My surprise birthday party turned into a come help us party! Thank GOD for family, and good friends!

Been there. Came home one night, and have absolutely no idea why I looked in the basement, but water was up to the top of the first step. It was late, so I turned off the electricity to the furnace, washer and dryer, and went to bed. Had 18 inches by morning. That was a fun time???

When I lived in the northeast I had two 250 gallon fuel oil tanks in my basement.I woke up one morning to the smell of pungent fuel oil,one of my tanks leaked overnight and deposited 250 Gallion of heating oil in my basement, just had both tanks filled.Talk about a nightmare, the daytime temp.was 10 degrees and we had no heat.

Your calamity sure beat mine. In fact so did Archies. Mine happened in the spring, so loss of heat was not that big a deal.

What would you use to remove fuel oil? It has to be some type of vacuum doesn't it?

Geez! I don't know. I would think. How would you dry up what the vacuum left? Mayhaps Hemiman will tell us!

They sucked up what they could into a truck followed by very large absorbent towel type things and finally about a fifty to sixty 50 lb.bags of scented stuff that looked like kitty litter.

What an ordeal!! Did the scented stuff at least smell like chicken, cookies, febreeze, or something?
