The accountants get information from their client. The disclaimer is to protect the accountants from lies that the client may have included in that information. Of coarse, the banks should have checked the numbers. And if it was a working man that was seeking a loan, they would have. The rich get treated differently. But it doesn't release them from liability. Fraud is fraud.
