First welcome to the Forum Innovator. Yes I agree with you but you will find we are most definitely in the minority here on OPP. Just be prepared for more than a few who will vehemently disagree with you. Plus most likely to be referred to as Leftist, Marxist or Worse(Even though you may be a sane centrist Republican who sees that the GOP has veered to the Extreme right)
Welcome, II! And yes, I disagree with you, as my pal Lost Aggie suggested would happen.
LA, one of the issues today is this:
If used a scale of 0 to 10 to illustrate the political spectrum, one would reasonably think that 0 is the extreme left, 3 is the average left, 5 is centrist, 8 is average right, and 10 is extreme right wing. That is the way I try to look at it.
As you know, to most people, it ain't thata way! Progressives act as though 2 is the center, and anything to the right of that is a right wing extremist. Many on the right do the same thing. Anything to the left side of 8 is extreme left wing.
The way I see it is, the extreme left wants and demands things that the majority of Americans do not, including the right, the centrists, and most of the left learner's. I think the Democrat party is being run by those extremists, and are pushing for things you, for example, do not support.
The extreme right (which does NOT, by the way, include racists and white supremacists--they are a whole different tribe all on their own) does not really run the Republican party, even if you think of Trump as being one. Trump spent as much time trying to get support from elected Republicans as he did fighting Democrats.
Tell me, if you please, what proposals, policies, characteristics, etc, makes up the 'extreme right' in your opinion.
Let's talk about it, and see if we can reach an agreement on terms, at least.
