Steven Sund, former US Capitol Police Chief, 2019-2021, called for the National Guard on J-6. He begged the pentagon for back-up.
He was forced to resign as the scapegoat for J-6.
There was significant intelligence that people were plotting to storm the Capitol. NO intelligence agency sounded the alarm, NO ONE notified Sund, no heads-up from the FBI or DHS.
Jan 3, Sund repeatedly asked permission to call in the National Guard, but he was stalled, slow-walked and stonewalled for more than 72 hours.
On J-6, Sund called 11 times begging for National Guard troops, troops that he could see from the Capitol, they were that close, but he didn’t get approval for 71 minutes.
As they breached the Capitol he made 32 more phone calls for state, metro police, anyone. Troopers from VA and NJ arrived on the scene before the National Guard was approved. Sund called the Pentagon but the director of the army denied him help, the military “didn’t like the optics of armed police at the capitol”. Months later he learned that 70% of the capitol police intelligence division had been working “remotely” in J-6.
His assistant chief, Depitman, knew about the security threats but never told Sund. Sund knew nothing about plain clothes officers in the crowd, or that Lloyd Austin, himself, denied National Guardsmen deployed to the capitol that day, the use of weapons, helmets or body armor, and they couldn’t make any arrests.
Why didn’t the J-6 Select Committee call Chief Sund to testify?
Why did Tucker Carlson get sacked right before his interview with Sund was set to air? Why aren’t we allowed to see all of that video?
