Where did you fish? I spent my growing summers at a fishing cabin on Mathis Lake.

Lake Falcon and various resacas but mostly Bay fishing South Padre/Port Isabel, Rockport, Boca Chica/Brownsvile Ship channel. Arroyo City and other spots in South and Central Texas. As an adult I fished in Colorado Lakes and rivers, Pensacola off shore, Perdido Key FL and Gulf Shores AL for surf fishing. Now North PAdre Island and Mustang Island plus some small inlets here in Corpus Christi. I find fishing extremely relaxing even when they are not biting.

I never did have that kind of patience. I was pretty good in fresh water, but only occasionally had success in salt water. I have pretty much given it up. In the sixties and seventies we did not even consider catching perch to be 'fishing', they were so prevalent and easy to snag with just a bit of bait shrimp. Bass and gaspergoo were the most fun. Im glad you are enjoying yourself in Corpus.
