Most Christians either disregard, forget or are ignorant of the fact that we have a wonderful, loving, God appointed Spirit Guide constantly by our side all our life & into our death and we really need to acknowledge him and get to know him.  I share this personal prayer with you. I've had it so long I don't remember how much is of my own creation and which parts I borrowed from other sources.  Please feel free to modify this prayer according to your own beliefs.  The only thing I hope to do is to encourage us to get to know our own Guardian Angel.


Glory to God in all things.

Holy Angel of Christ, the appointed guardian and protector of my body and soul, thank you for watching over me all my life.  Forgive me for offending you and my Savior every day since I first learned to sin.  Please, continue to pray for me and protect me against Satan, his demons and the banquet of sins they prepare for me everyday.  Never allow me to fall asleep at night without first remembering the sins I have committed this day, and being sorrowful for them, confess them before my Savior, along with all the sins I cannot remember, and to beg His mercy, pity & love to forgive and absolve me.  To do otherwise would be to show great disrespect for the sacrifice of love Jesus paid for me.  Pray for me Holy Angel that I might be worthy of the Holy Trinity, the Blessed Theotokos and all the Saints.  And at sometime in my life I may become incapacitated and unable to pray.  At that time please pray in my stead so that as long as I draw breath my prayers & supplications will continue to be presented before Jesus everyday.  And if death should call me so quickly that I am unable to seek forgiveness and absolution for that day's sins, intercede on my behalf and pray to Jesus that He might forgive & absolve me, and allow you to accompany my soul to His care & protection.

Lord Jesus, Son of God, please bless and strengthen my Guardian Angel. Amen

When you are looking at doing something wrong and you have no inner guidance, your guiding light is dead...when that inner voice encourages you to do wrong, says do it, you can get away with this, and works out details of a defense for the indefensible, you are getting guidance from the dark side.

People with a sould know what is right and wrong...what do you say about spiritually broken people that hate people because of their race or religious beliefs, because they are mexican or muslim?

Broken is broken, and good is good no matter what god or spirit guides a person...any good spirit is better than a broken sense of god...

I LOVE that prayer! I LOVE the part about being unable to pray and having a Guardian Angel who can do that in my stead!!! What a wonderful thought...I never thought of a Guardian in this light. This is a beautiful prayer!
