Forest fires , smoke and…

Visibility was down to about half a mile at times yesterday. More of the same today. Outdoor sports are being canceled, people with asthma are warned to stay indoors, the smell of wood smoke is omnipresent.
All this from fires almost a thousand miles away.
So, what’s this mean for the climate and the carbon footprint?
I figure this is about 10 years worth of carbon for this part of the country.
Any one else living in this world of haze ?

Hey Big Dog, not sure where you are(east coast?) we
are in NH. We've had 2 weeks of rain and the low pressure area we are in has been keeping the smoke away, according to the Portland weatherman. Still waiting for my corn to come up. Guess rain is better than smoke,

I’m on Long Island, NY. Consider yourself lucky. It was crazy thick smoke here yesterday afternoon. Even the ocean was hard to see at times.
