I'll stick with my second hand Bulova Accutron, 51 years old and still humming & running like new.

You might be surprised Gats.
That watch you’re wearing can fetch $300-$500. A new one will run you $1400 and up.

I know, I bought my 1972 S/S Canadian R/R approved model in a pawn shop for much less, when it was only a year old.

They never tick, they hum, the second hand advances 60 times per second.

That's correct, the movement is driven by a tuning fork, which drives a tiny little "index wheel", about 1/8" dia.
that little index wheel has been rotating once every second for 51 years.
The Accutron was the first wrist watch ever to be "Railroad Approved" for accuracy.
What a shame all the incredible time pieces available and still half the country still doesn't know what time it is.
