This article got most of the information accurate. I liked the reporter's analogy of my guide dog school being a Phoenix which will rise from the ashes. No human life was lost in the wildfire which swept away my school. Of the 8 dogs, only one, a 6 month pup, shows no effects of the trauma. One is recovering enough that I believe he will be able to be reliable as a guide dog. Others will need to be rehomed as pets. And I lost 2 cats.

Sorry for you losses. Training guide dogs is a noble profession.
More programs like this are needed to reduce recidivism.
