This week anti- Semitic handouts were left on peoples driveways in Lichfield, and Paulies Island, South Carolina. It had all kinds of nazi symbols on it. This its a sign of the growing hatred towards Jews, Chinese, and other minorities. The people of those two towns were scandalized and embarrassed.
I do believe that everybody has the right of free speech, even racists. Free speech is meant to protect unpopular ideas, because the popular ones don't need protection. Of course libel and other kinds of speech is against the law as it should be. All forms of prejudice be rejected by the community, as is the case in South Carolina. Some of the posts on OPP are anti-Semitic. I won't mention who they are, but their posts make it easy to spot. All people in this blessed land have the freedom to be what they are, and become what they want to be. Race, color, ethnicity, religion, or sexual choice has nothing to do with what kind of individual each person is.

Do you believe someone should be hired simply because they are of a particular race/sexual orientation?

To bad you don't stand up for government censored free speech as well as that censored by the main stream media and big tech media.

Logicallyright, I'm not sure I know what you mean. Liable, sedition, treason, creating a disturbance in the educational process, and yelling fire in a crowded space when there is no fire, are all necessary in a free society ruled by law.. Please be a bit more specific.

American Vet, Damn good question. When I left the service, I decided to go to college. My marks in high school sucked , so I started in Bronx Community College. I started as a non matriculated student but was told that I would be fully accepted if I maintained a C plus- to a B minus average for one year. I managed to have an A minus average , but was refused admission because the school had to accept minority students on a new program of affirmative action. On the one hand, I felt that I was being discriminated against for somebody that was not nearly as good a student as I was. On the other hand, I believe that any program that can bring African- Americans into the middle class community is a good thing. I finally came to the conclusion that there is no answer. My bet is that a large majority of the young people in that affirmative action program dropped out of school, and never finished. Many of the classes I took were damned hard. I wouldn't have objected so much if the affirmative action programs had an end. If these programs ended after ten or fifteen years, I could accept it as a necessary evil, but a never ending advantage on the basis of race just makes for a permanent privileged class. It also is a disservice to those it is supposed to help. How will they have any pride in an accomplishment if they will never know if they were competitive with students like me that had to study hard but had higher standards to meet just to get into the same school, and a vet. at that?

Yes, there is an answer.

All Americans should be treated EQUALLY. Pretty straightforward.

And, of course, you failed to pursue the regulation that provided for Veteran priority.

There is a limit on what can be considered "free speech".
"Hate speech" that results in harm for one.
Nazi anti-Semitic propaganda is "hate speech" on steroids.
Who in God's name can deny the harm this has done to the Jewish people?
And millions of others, to boot?
They don't call anti-Semitism "The longest Hate" for no reason.

A plausible answer for the leafleting, unfortunately, is our corrupt FBI. I would not overlook them. They ran COINTELPRO and got lambasted for it. They can no longer be “trusted” and that is sad & bad for all of us.

That’s a problem we get from democrats. Hire the best doctor. Otherwise have the affirmative action doctor operate on you.

Wrong. Democrats don’t want equal treatment or equal opportunity. They want equity, equal results.

AuntiE, I never heard of this regulation. Did it exist in 1963 when I got out of the navy?

Thats just the problem. From 1870 to 1980 African Americans were denied equal opportunity and equal justice. The question is , can affirmative action make up for Jim Crow, The Black Codes, and denial of the denial of the opportunity to vote.
Again, I don't know all the answers but I tend to agree with you.

No it can’t. Trying to change anything by using racial metrics defeats the purpose. We are moving forward - in spite of the leftist rhetoric about race, gender, etc.

If I did, you might be left out. Figure it out yourself. You have such a fabulous resume.
