The word stupid gets used often on this site but let's look at the word stupid. It has a broad range of applications, but it generally means a person lacks intelligence or the ability to reason. However one defines the word stupid, I can hardly think of the word without relating it to republican supporters, especially those who are not part of the wealthiest 1% of income earners.

Over the past week people are headed to the polls and it is apparent that the level of stupidity in people inclined to support republicans is beyond my comprehension. In fact it is frightening that so many lack the fundamental reasoning or ability of a 2nd grader. This is exactly the type of voter republicans depend on to win elections.

Watching one republican from California with a bizarre case of stupidity is a drought stricken area is that a lack of rainfall is due to the clean water act and the EPA and the republican stupidity is apparent because they will vote for this nit wit.

The stupid notion of republicans that keeping the min wage at poverty levels , or eliminating it altogether, will put more money into working people's pockets and will eliminate poverty. Now is this policy stupid

The list of insane beliefs of republicans promulgate to convince there base to vote against there own self interest is amazing millions are struggling in poverty due to low wages but they vote republican because they are being told that lower wages and giving the wealthy there large pensions and tax loopholes will increase there personnel wealth and save America.

Republicans garner votes based on sheer fantasy and lies. Republicans are very smart they know there base and without stupid people they would be extinct. What a sad ignorant nation we have.

Look at Mitch McConnell paying people to come to rallies and using a women from PA to appear in Ads.

Look at Ted Cruz saying the ACA is the cause of EBOLA in this country.

Gas prices up its Obamas fault Gas prices down Obama had nothing to do with it. Stock market down Obamas fault stock market up Obama had nothing to do with it.

Equal pay for women will destroy job growth. Income inequality is great just let the wealthy have the money and cut wages they will take care of America.

Unemployment down nope not Obama someone playing with the numbers.

Voter fraud the way to eliminate voter fraud is shut down the number of polls and eliminate early voting. Even though millions were spent by Bush and found absolutely nothing.

Well I could go on and on with the stupid dumb links and articles that get posted but it does not do any good the stupid will always be stupid.

The drought in calif. Is a direct result of our incompetent gov. This is the same clown that was in office when we had a drought in the 70s and he did nothing! The only thing gov. Brownee is into is taking hard working peoples money and using it for social programs

F.y.I. most water useage in calif. Comes from the snowpack in the mountains, not the rainfall. Reservoirs are needed to catch the meltoff. This genius did nothing about it in the past and decides to double the population with illegals. More people and no more water. Great plan

Perhaps the stupidity is not the fault of the voter, not entirely anyway. They are given little choices in who they may vote for. If there is only one Dem candidate and one Repub candidate, then they have to make a choice based on SOMETHING and if it comes down to choosing between two idiots, they wouldn't vote for either one. Those who DO vote, feel the responsibility of that "right" and will do the best they can.

Some people will vote party, regardless of the goofiness of that parties candidate, in the hope that the party bosses knew what they were doing when they supported such a candidate. Others will vote based on who is the most likeable, or who raised the most money, or who the polls show is the likely winner. The majority of voters will simply vote on the "lesser of two evils", based on whatever they can find to rationalize doing so.

The absence of qualified, genuine, respectful and "for realz" candidates, from either of the two big parties, leaves little for folk to base their votes on. The odds of getting a dufus into office is nearly 100%, regardless of WHICH party they come from.

For instance, his very first sentence:"However one defines the word stupid, I can hardly think of the word without relating it to republican supporters, especially those who are not part of the wealthiest 1% of income earners,"-- in trying to prove Republicans are stupid, begs the question: "Are Republicans in the wealthiest 1%, then, NOT stupid"?
