Another of my favorite true locals is Mac Arnold. Had the pleasure of actually meeting Mr. Arnold at the Cornbread & Collard Greens blues festival in April.

No, I have not but wish I had!! I would have made plans to go and and seen wills , Slat, peewee and a few others too!! Gosh dang I envy you that was a killer!!!

Can’t claim it but I believe this one he did is with his wife in mind?? You are right they are just too “ genuinely sweet” with each other and she seems a big part of his “ smiles”when performing..

Oh that is a beautiful song....imagine if someone wrote that for you! That's what I mean about musicians. Most of them (the "real" ones) tell beautiful stories with their songs, right from their hearts. That's what I like so much about Stapleton- his songs are meaningful and beautiful - I love "Starting Over". When my son was re-stationed from Texas to Virginia, on moving day as he and his family were driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains on their way to their new home, this song came on - he called me up and said "Hey, mom, this is me right now!" That song has special meaning to me now!

At the risk of being redundant, here's another version of Tennessee Whiskey that he did at a Farm Aid concert....at the beginning, he introduces his band members - by singing about them! He has such respect for his "guys"....

I suspect most lyrics written are done portraying something that took place memorable enough to want to make it music. And I sure am very thankful and grateful for them that do. Your son obviously has excellent taste as well. And this version you produced here is absolutely fantastic had to add it to my music library as well. Thank you very much.🌷❤️
