Thank you for posting that speach oldroy, That was but one of the many heartfelt speaches that Ronald Reagan delivered. He was a great man.

The man was a good speaker but maybe his acting career had something to do with that. He was sure more able to read his cards than the present president.

Ronald Reagan is the reason I quit being a liberal and realized the genius of the individual - starting with the genius of Reagan. Initially I was taken in by the charge that he was a dumb cowboy actor, the typical liberal approach to opposition - try to diminish the man and avoid the issues. When I realized his intentions with the Strategic Defense Initiative, called Star Wars by Ted Kennedy, I realized that the dumb ones were me, Kennedy and the liberals. Everything observation I've had since then reinforced that realization

That was plenty of reason to drop liberalism. I dropped it in 1972 when the Dems ran George McGovern for President and have never voted for any of the socialists they have nominated since then.
