Got it.
The scapegoat stories are a shadow of the event where Barabbas was set free and Jesus was sacrificed. The name barabbas is a joining of the words bar, neaning son of, and abba, meaning the father. Hence Barabbas, “son of the father”, is set free into the wilderness, and Jesus, literally the Son of the Father, is taken home to heaven, not lost in the wilderness. It’s proving that it’s better to be sacrificed than to be released back into the world.
Ok have a good one.
