None of the above. they may be formed by ignorance or misinformation. They could also be formed by the honest belief that the collectivist state is the right way to go, even if it requires changing human nature to make people more easily programmed.
2) Does Christ agree with an austerity budget? Christ would not agree with a budget that required some people to work as slaves or serfs for other people. He wants us to help one another, not to have an uncaring third party provide handouts along political lines to garner votes.

3) How would Christ answer the immigration dilemma?
Christ would say "render unto Caesar that which is Caesars" He would say that the functions of the government include secure boundaries to protect the people within a country, just as he believes that the boundaries that are declared within the ten commandments are the rules that we must try hard to live by
4) Does Christ care about equality? It depends on your meaning of equality. Christ believed in equality of purpose That we are here to worship God and do well and deal honestly with our fellow men. Included in His rules is the concept of working for your rewards, not sitting on your keyster and demanding others take care of you, when you can take care of yourself.

5) Is Christ in agreement with Ayn Rand?
1) Are oppositional political views a) demonic; b)... (show quote)
When Ayn Rand is writing about the freedom to keep what you have earned and the freedom to pursue your own dreams, not what the government demands you do, Christ would agree. When Ayn Rand is saying that there is no right or wrong, and that God does not exist, then obviously Christ would not agree.

When Christ says that you should love your neighbor as you love yourself, He means real love

May I quote from "the Truth About Same-Sex Marriage" by Erwin Lutzer, about loving our neighbors?

"Let no one say say that we have to choose between loving homosexuals and opposing same sex marriage. Biblically, love is defined not as license to legitimize sinful behavior of any kind, but love helps us see that there is a better way. Obviously we must be as concerned about our own sins as we are about the sins of the homosexual community. We must be concerned enough to speak out about any action, heterosexual or homosexual, that violates God's intended plan for marriage and the family." a good and valid answer to the concepts of the LGBTQ groups.

You omitted a most important question from the Progressive liberal position; A question that is foremost in the minds of millions upon millions of Americans at this very moment;

Would Jesus Christ make Washington change the name of the football Redskins?

Surprised you missed it...

Jesus was Jewish. He lived in Israel. He had no opinion on the Washington Redskins.

He rooted for those known as the "Missing Foreskins". The only "Redskins" around were teenage boys, who thumbed their noses at Leviticus and were fond of pleasuring themselves.

It is now believed that virtually all of the folks who were members of the "Missing Foreskins" had, at one time or another, also been members of the "Redskins".

Obviously the Washingyon Redskins need to update their terminology to something more modern and more accurately descriptive like the
Washington Wankers.

You might try reading for comprehension. I am not an atheist. I do believe in a Supreme force, from which all this "stuff" emanates.

I, however, have no interest in living my life according to pre-scientific fables as told by ancient middle eastern sheep (and goat) herders. To me it makes about as much sense as living my life by Grimm's Fairy Tales.....or Dr. Seuss.

Although Christians and Orthodox Jews may believe in messiahs, I personally don't buy the idea of some annointed magic man coming to save the asses of humans who have made some really bad choices and messed up the only planet that we earthlings call home.

The best ones to rescue humans from their messed up planetary defilement choices, are environmentally aware progressives---not repressed, superstitious, bible-thumping, conservative whack-jobs.

Brian good luck dieing. I'd rather be a whack job as you call it rather being an idiot Moron who thinks the big bang theory and you and your ancestors crawling out of the ocean and turning from a monkey into what you are today a former monkey.

Jewish humor. Ya gotta love it. Nobody else can, with such historic license, make a relevant story out of cutting off the end of ones penis and masturbation.

I truly appreciate it... :P

Here's our New DemoRAT Marxist Party: The Communist Party USA is stepping up to bat in the 2014 election, rallying its troops against Republicans and promoting a long list of ways for people to support the Democratic Party agenda.

An Internet announcement signed by Lisa Bergmann of the Young Communist League USA and Joelle Fishman of a related political action committee said: “Can you believe it? No, really. Student debt has exceeded $1.2 trillion. One third of black men are serving time in prison, and young black men are 21 times more likely to be killed by police than whites. Republicans are attacking DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and aiming to deport more undocumented students. At the same time, unemployment persists at eighty percent for youth of color, and voter ID laws have quelled youth voter turnout in many states.

“What do we say? Stand up, fight back, VOTE!”

The party, which offers a variety of election 2014 resources and also boasts that on Oct. 15, 1842, Karl Marx became editor of Rheinische Zeitung, a newspaper later published on behalf of the Communist League, promotes ways to “Get Out the Vote.”

“Students, immigrant rights activists, organizers from Ferguson, and young union members are all hitting the pavement right now to elect progressive candidates to the Senate and to Governor seats across the country,” the announcement said.

For “motivation,” it said, volunteers should consider the appropriate response to “Ferguson and mass unemployment among African American youth, the “Republican filibuster” that stopped Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s student loan act, the Voting Rights Act and “voter ID and other laws that limit turnout of youth.”

The party said in Florida there are phone bank volunteers with AFL-CIO, in Arizona a door knocking campaign is under way and in New York, there are rallies with the Working Families Party.

It offers links to sign up for telephone campaigns by the ALF-CIO, MoveOn, Democracy For America and others.

The party follows the Communist Manifesto, which states: “The Communists fight for the attainment of the immediate aims, for the enforcement of the momentary interests of the working class; but in the movement of the present, they also represent and take care of the future of that movement.”

The CPUSA, not quite 100 years old, reports that it “has an unparalleled history in the progressive movement of the United States, from the struggle against Jim Crow segregation, the organizing of the industrial unions, from the canneries of California, to the sweatshops of New York City.”

WND reported earlier this year, however, when the communists were unhappy with the Democrats, too.

At the time, they called for “street heat,” including civil disobedience, to demand passage of comprehensive legislation that would “keep families together” and include citizenship for “the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently in the country.”

The sentiments were expressed in an article by People’s World, the official magazine of the Communist Party USA. A piece on the People’s World website was titled “Progress toward immigration bill? Not without ‘street heat.’”

The article noted “reports of progress in labor-business negotiations over new immigration reform legislation” but said “‘street heat’ is essential to keep the effort from failing once more.”

The magazine said it disapproves of plans for a guest worker program, which it claims is aimed at “securing a supply of cheap labor from which it can derive extra profits, and undercut the rest of the workers.”

Continued the publication: “Guest workers are legally in the country, but they are in a vulnerable position, because they can’t change jobs when they are not satisfied with the pay or working conditions.”

Thanks CDM!

I have a theory about circumcision. My guess is that the Israelites had suffered some horrible calamity (famine, drought, earthquakes, etc.).

Like most primitive pre-scientific people, they probably thought they had done something bad and God was punishing them.

Like many of the world's other primitive people they probably thought they had to sacrifice something important to God (or Gods) like the tribes best sheep, goats, or virgins.

One of the leaders probably told another one of the leaders, "we had better sacrifice the thing that we value the most".

I'm sure the other one said, "NO---NOT THAT!", whereupon the other one relented and said, "OK---NOT THE WHOLE THING---HOW ABOUT JUST THE TIP.......AS A SYMBOL".

Most of the time yes, he is dull and boorish. In this case I believe it is just humor; and somewhat clever on several levels. And it does amplify the left-handed sarcasm of my remarks.

Give a break when one is due...

[quote=chuckybrass]Thank you for your kind thoughts and input bigmtman!

Unfortunately, Gary Kendall's church is one of the approved Rick Warren "Purpose Driven Church" role models. I didn't believe God thought we should put making our church profitable over taking care of the sheep then, and I don't buy into that hooey now. I left my old church for the same reason, but I thank you for the thought. It is my belief that we walk in faith, and are compelled by God to accomplish certain things at times. I do not believe that they will always include being financially successful. Jesus did not die a rich, affluent business man, and neither will most Christians whether they choose to believe it or not. Like I said before, I am not into entertainment church...

http://www.livingsent.net/biography

BTW: Rick Warren was Obama's right hand pastor in 2008. He kinda got kicked to the curb, didn't he........[/quote

Chucky, I clicked on the link you provided. The Gary Kendall in the link is NOT the Gary Kendall that I am referring to. I personally know Gary. My wife and I were married by him in our front yard in WV. He looks nothing like the one in the link. He has never lived in Kansas. He currently lives in Raceland, KY. I've never heard him promote Rick Warren.

In reference to Warren, ever since I heard that he seemed to be promoting Chrislam, I decided that he was either misguided or a wolf in sheeps clothing. "What does light have to do with darkness?"

Gary's main thrust is that ever since God rent the veil of the temple in two at the end of Jesus's crucifixion, God resides in the hearts of believers, not in the temple or a church. The "church" is not a building of stone, wood, and glass, but the church is us--those who have accepted Christ as Savior. He exposes many myths about our faith that are taught as truth. It is a very interesting, uplifting, and reassuring book.

I share your thoughts about the "Prosperity Gospel." Those who preach that God is a heavenly slot machine that you put $10 in and get $100 back are just trying to line their own pockets. My wife and I tithe, and while we don't get ten fold back in money, we know we are blessed in other ways. We have what we need, we have peace in our home, and we have seventeen grand children. We are truly blessed.
God bless you!
