A Government Disinformation Board Sounds So Evil And Scary...
It just does, and it conjures up so many images of all the worst Nazi, Communist, socialist stuff...
And it is...government is going to spy on us with this disinformation board, it's a ministry of truth, they will start torturing people that want the truth.
Meanwhile for a dose of the less scary truth, the reality is that we will be dealing with openness and transparency being shined on disinformation, misinformed people are making this country look like a dangerous bunch of gun toting morons that can tell facts from world class Russian rhetoric and propaganda.
Apparently the government needs to step in and do something about harmful lies.

First: There is no need for the government to intervene - there is a process already in place to 'do something' about harmful lies. All on has to do is prove it to a jury and - bingo - slander or libel.
Second: You think people will believe 'the government'? Seem 'the government' has a real; credibility problem - and for good reason. (except, of course, for gullible folks such as you...)

Oh, is that right woody.
You mean like Hitler and Putin did?
I don't think so.
Guess one will be in a FEMA CAMP if they say we should have weapons per the 2nd Amendment and the socialist powers don't agree.
Can't you see where this is headed?
Freedom involves freedom of thought and debate pros & cons.
You are 10% wrong.

This will be hilarious in it's execution. Every time The Dis information board makes a mistake folks will yell 1984. And they will make mistakes. Intentional or not.
Don't say a word about WTC on 9/11/01 or Murrah Fed Bldg in Oklahoma City in 4/19/95 and if bombs were used.
That's not the story the government wants.
Don't say the gulf of Tonkin incident in Viet Nam never happened that kick started our involvement.

It is being established to shutdown conservative speech and those who oppose the Democrat agenda. Its purpose to to try and discredit anyone who stands in their way
Don't say the present governance is a corporation per act of 1871 shortly following the civil.war.
We are not supposed to know this.

And what happens when one is unable to prove one's assertions in a court of law, but continues to spout those same harmful lies? Nothing, right? Those lies can continue to be repeated, as though they were the truth. The 'stolen election' lie comes to mind, for some reason.
Do you honestly think that a Republican government (say, in 2024) will have any more credibility than the current one? I sure as heck don't think so, given what we experienced the last time we had a Republican government (2017-2018).

Well, we all know or should know that one of the steps to set up Communism is to control the media. Think about how Sock puppet China Joe got elected. Had people known about the lap top this would have an influence on the outcome. The truth hurts...

You are telling us the government that is responsible for the greatest deceptions and disinformation in American history is gonna determine what is or what is not "disinformation".
Who Fact Checks the Fact Checkers? A Report on Media Censorship from the American Institute of Economic Research.
The advent of fact-checker journalism may be wearing out its welcome. Perhaps the increasing politicization of American life is a contributor to the downward spiral of the fact-checking profession that is primarily run by politically engaged reporters, not expert specialists in the subjects they assess by any sense of the imagination. Not that any one group of experts should have the authority over the truth either. Self-appointed media gatekeepers are a ticking time bomb of political censorship, waiting to be unleashed when the temptations are too great and the necessity for impartiality is even greater. With White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki calling for collusion between social media companies and the government to censor “misinformation”, this threat seems to be as close as ever. <SNIP>
