To Proud Russian And Right Wing Nazi Supporters...Trying To Understand Science

Proud republican was on another sabbatical when we were discussing cognitive sophistication, this is too long a read for those who have low levels of it, so we can make it simpler for them...

There are people that have a problem with understanding how to tell what is fact and what are lies, many studies have been done on brain function and what makes some people believers while others are not. It comes down to how new information is processed, with some it's not when they have already made their minds up what they believe.

This is how science applies trying to assess how the brain is either working or not...the goal is to figure out why so many people would have such a tough time differentiating facts from misinformation. Then they wanted to create data that could divide people into the categories of being able to tell what was the truth and what was a lie, and go a step further and determine how many of each group were trump supporters and how many were not.

This is actually a great article that discusses cultural divides in these cognitive groups.

And here is the actual study that has a preface synopsis that describes methodology, goals, how they arrived at conclusions based on how the data was applied.

You're not the brightest bulb in the room, are you?

Chauncey Devega, of Salon dot com, begins the second paragraph of his Bash-America-First screed with this lie:

"American society was founded on white settler colonialism, genocide and slavery."

Obviously, Chauncey Devega doesn't have a clue.
America was founded on the principles embedded in the Declaration of Independence
and our Constitution, not on colonialism, genocide and slavery.

What you call "science", what Devega calls "science", is the work of one Trump hating sociology professor.
One politically biased academic's "study" does not, by any stretch, result in established science.
Sherkat's "study" itself, as reported on Salon, and repeated on rawstory, is evidence of extreme bias.
Sherkat focused this entire screed on Trump supporters, conservatives and Christians,
it is an outtake on his own previous article titled, "Cognitive Sophistication, Religion, and the Trump Vote".
He paid no attention to leftist voters and their own "cognitive dysfunction".

Wanna see a leftist suffering chronic cognitive dysfunction,
take a look at the pathetic excuse for a national leader you damned fools voted for.

Scientific research is based on ethical standards, not political biases.
Duty to society; beneficence; conflict of interest; informed consent; integrity; nondiscrimination; nonexploitation; privacy and confidentiality; professional competence; and professional discipline.

Sherkat obviously did not approach his "study" objectively, without bias; he failed miserably in holding himself to those ethical standards. He launched his "study" based on his own conclusions that Trump supporters, conservatives and Christians are essentially ignorant, knuckle dragging Neanderthals who can't tell the time of day, then he set out to prove it. Establishing a conclusion then manufacturing evidence to prove it is the definition of "junk science".
Very much like AGW alarmism.

The notion that Trump and all of his supporters, all of his voters, are fascists, neo-fascists, Nazis, neo-Nazis, are authoritarians is a bald faced lie.

BTW: the second link you posted is a joke.
