A Great Cure

You have no idea how much confidence it gives me in our leaders that both the Speaker of the House and the US Transportation Secretary apparently believe that the key to reducing the national debt and lowering inflation is for the government to spend even more money.

I also hear that bloodletting is a great cure for anemia.

On the other hand, we had Bush Jr. and Trump lowering taxes and starving the country of revenue by saying that trickle down works. It does not work, business finds ways to eliminate workers and the rich get richer.

Lowering taxes = more money for the people.

Sorry you don't like that.

Starving the country = no money for useless, wasteful programs that need to be eliminated.

Trumps tax change - more money for corporations and people until 2025. The corporate rate stays the same, but the individual rate increases. I do not think Medicare and Social Security, VA benefits, and helping the poor with food and heating aid is wasteful. Spending 778 billion dollars on the military is wasteful. Case in point is the F-35 combat aircraft, which is the most expensive weapons program ever undertaken by the Pentagon. After 20 years of development, it is not fully ready for combat, and it may never be. In addition, the F-35 is immensely costly to purchase, operate, and maintain. The Government Accountability Office has determined that it will cost billions more per year than current Air Force estimates, and that nearly half the fleet could be grounded by 2030 for lack of a functioning engine. That’s quite an admission for a plane that is slated to cost $1.7 trillion over its lifetime.

We would be better served if Butt-i-gig would go on a extended maternity leave and good old Nancy would just stay at the bar.

Actually, Businesses find ways to expand and grow thereby needing more workers, not less. I was a part of one of those, saw it work with my own eyes not something some politician who is owned by a lobby told me. Think about it!

Trumps tax change - more money for corporations an... (show quote)

And?

>>>I do not think Medicare and Social Security, VA benefits, and helping the poor with food and heating aid is wasteful.

Nor do I - if the poor really need it. It needs to be associated with accountability (start with drug testing).

But there are many other government entities that waste money - start with the Dept. Of Education. Do away with it, it is not needed and education is a state function. And I won't even mention the money wasted on "gender studies", etc. Also cut off all foreign aid - we need it here.

>>>Spending 778 billion dollars on the military is wasteful

Not if used wisely. The procurement system needs to be cleaned up; and that could be done.

But a strong military is essential - and it is the first and foremost function of the government.

And seeing how things are going right now, a beefed up military might come in VERY handy VERY soon.

Yes, the medical profession his been completely wrong in so many ways. Now look how wrong they are about Covid and the toxic jab. The AMA and Big Pharma are in bed with each other and both kiss the others a$$. The American people lose with these corrupt groups in power.

BBZ is clueless about how the economy works. I'm sure bbz has never owned a business or been self employed. Stupidity is rampant in our country. Just look who's running it or I should say, ruining it.
