The genius of Carlin. He could roll any direction! I once saw him do a show with lots of veterans and conservatives in the audience. He came out and started doing the Bash America routine. Within a minute he realized he was doing the wrong themed material for this audience. He took a step back and a deep breath and said, "let's begin again." He knew the routine he started was not going to fly with this audience and he did an immediate 180 about-face performing different material, and from that point on he had the audience in his hand. His brilliance lies in the fact that he could tailor a show to please any audience anywhere. He could play both sides of any controversial subject.

I used to watch Jimmy Dean in the Sixties. I probably saw this show on TV when I was younger. My other favorite was Red Skelton.
