The editorial board of a newspaper wrote an opinion suggesting NG deployment. I hope you don't think they are setting Utah policy.

Over the weekend, the editors of Utah’s Salt Lake Tribune penned a fairly standard urban liberal cri de coeur about the supposedly backward Covid policies of the red state in which they find themselves. In their view, the state government is waving the “white flag of surrender in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic” because it supposedly disdained “any move or recommendation to mask up” or ” “to make vaccination a requirement of admission to public places and society in general” once vaccines became available.

At any rate, this editorial would have just been another drop in the Covid-panic bucket were it not for one jarring assertion:

Were Utah a truly civilized place, the governor’s next move would be to find a way to mandate the kind of mass vaccination campaign we should have launched a year ago, going as far as to deploy the National Guard to ensure that people without proof of vaccination would not be allowed, well, anywhere.

The mark of a “truly civilized” place, apparently, is to use military force to force unvaccinated individuals to remain in their homes indefinitely. Alas, the Tribune laments, “it may be too late for that, politically and medically.” That’s true. But such an idea has no place in this country; it would likely backfire anyway.

Instead of complaining about their state government, the editors of the Salt Lake Tribune should thank it for declining to indulge their fantasies of biomedical tyranny.

A free press can suggest anything they want...including what to do when they think one group of people threatens the public safety of others.

God, you don't know how badly I want to agree with you since this is the specific reason for the inclusion of the second amendment in our federal constitution but since this is state action, not federal, I have to ask you where it is written in the Utah Constitution that the Utah national guard can't be used in matters of public safety?

Biomedical tyranny? Why is it I have to point out that it was Trump who authorized this biomedical tyranny and if not for his loss you people would have lined up to take the shots like the good little puppets that you are? And if we were truly a civilized place no one would have to force anyone to do what was best for the national common good but since you conservatives continue to demonstrate how uncivilized YOU are, our newspaper editorials are forced to write editorials such as this.

Oh, and then there is this: Paul Huntsman (Owner of the Tribune) is 46, a Republican and a devout Mormon who has operated largely within his family's business and philanthropic empire for the past 15 years, occasionally acting as a surrogate at public functions for his famous father, Jon Huntsman Sr.

Now did you catch that Blade? The owner of the paper and the person who sets the editorial standard is a Republican and his bona fides (a businessman and ultra-religious) show him to be conservative too. What you don't understand is that there are Republicans out there who don't approve of how their fellow Republicans have turned Covid into a political statement. Items that affect our common good should be above politics and not supported by one political party.

Lastly, we are at 877,240 Covid deaths which begs the question of how many people need to die for you anti-vaxxers to think that this is an actual emergency? Do your handlers allow you to answer such questions for yourself? Why don't you e-mail Levin or Hannity to get their permission? Wouldn't want you to get in trouble now would we...

So to clear the air: Can a fully vaccinated person spread Covid?

If so, aren't they also a "threat to public safety"?

When the facts eventually come out you will find out that the vaccine causes COVID .Anyone getting vaxxed can shed, passing COVID on to anyone they come into contact with for about a week. If you look at the COVID trends this becomes very obvious. Do some research and see for yourself.
