“This draws out the timeline considerably from what Enbridge is using to influence key decision-makers,” said Beth Wallace, an NWF Great Lakes campaigns manager
Wallace pushed back on suggestions that Line 5 opponents are responsible for delaying the project, saying that Enbridge’s route through project permitting is what’s causing the delay.
The tunnel “is really not an alternative,” Wallace said. “It’s an Enbridge proposal that’s a decade in the making and we have an urgent threat that we have to deal with now.”
Wallace said NWF sued after the state denied its Freedom of Information Act request for Enbridge’s draft request for proposals (RFP) documents that detail the project to solicit bids from contractors. Wallace said MDOT told her group this summer it didn’t technically have the documents because they were housed on a private Enbridge server.
“Nobody is holding up the permitting process but Enbridge,” Wallace said. The Army Corps review “was a reaction to the fact that they are trying to withhold so much critical info about both the need and impact of this project.”

Gosh,, gas prices... maybe you are correct. week or so ago I paid $3.14/gal..
On Monday running for supplies I had to gas up.. Darn, I did not bring a discount coupon for 4 cents per gallon so I had to pay the full price.. $3.09 per gal...
What are we going to do.. only dropped 5 cents locally in a week.. darn the dreadful price gougers..
