It's worse than you think. It is total annual transactions of $600 or more. There isn't a person in the US over 12 with a bank account that doesn't do more than $600 in transactions in a years time. If your bank is out of balance with deposits against withdrawals you will be flagged. If you do get flagged by the IRS you are always guilty until you prove your innocent.

No. No they don't. Right now, thanks to Bush, banks have to report a deposit of 10k. This is very much different. It's not a single 10k deposit. Depending on where the bill ends up. It's is a total of $600 or maybe 10k in deposits and withdrawals, total transactions, annually.
