As a card carrying American I say no to putting troops on the ground in Iraq and Syria. Not unless you go in to totally destroy them with whatever means are needed. There is no such thing as a partial war. There are no clean wars. Wars are a nasty business and you must be more ruthless than the enemy. If you go in half assed thinking that a few bombs will stop them go back to baking cookies.I've lived through the war in Vietnam and saw that over 58,000 young lives were lost for nothing because the politicians thought they could win a limited sterile war.To some Countries war is a way of life like in Iraq.It is sad but true. Some will say that we have to go in to save the innocents.AT WHAT COST.The Mideast is a brutal place to live.We have lost enough lives over there and should we send more even though we can stem the flow of fighting it will not last.Putting more troops over there is like putting a bandaid on a dying man.The only way to keep the peace in Iraq and Syria is to make them a State. Even then I have my doubts.__________Have a good day

Brian, it's obvious to all of us why you, of all the posters here, would not have a clue which "card" is being discussed. Thank you for your service, Thor.

I have to agree with most of your sentiments. Unfortunately it usually comes down to, how the politicians can spin the facts to get the people to support all out decimation. That did not happen in Vietnam, the people did not support the war because we did not know why we were fighting. In this fight we have the Saudi's lobbying McCain to get us in the fight. Who is really our friend in the area? No one. Pull all Americans out, let them sort it out, and deal with what is left.

Why would you have kept your draft card? When we exited Vietnam most of those cards went to the landfill.
I am, however, still in possession of my car wash punch card. I am hoping one day to cash in on that 5th car wash...that is free.
