Today our country is in the midst of a battle for survival. We face a well armed and well funded terror army, Islamic State, which has grown to 31,500 fighters, including 2,000 from Western nations. In his recent national address, President Obama outlined a more aggressive approach to attack the terrorists in Iraq and Syria. Unfortunately, battling the terrorists in the Middle East is not enough. Due to our open border, there is little doubt the terrorists have infiltrated this nation.

While the President talks tough about bombing Islamic State terrorists, he will not address the border crisis. Because of this inaction, Texas Governor Rick Perry has been forced to send his National Guard troops to border locations.

Sadly, this is too little, too late. There is no fence across most of the border region, in violation of the law. Our safety is being compromised as we have no idea what drugs, weapons or bombs are entering the United States.

Filmmaker James O’Keefe exposed how ridiculously easy it is to cross the Southern border even dressed as Osama Bin Laden. He crossed the Northern border carrying a bag marked “ricin.” No one stopped him as his traveled to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio and entered the building with a Duffel bag that could have been filled with biological weapons.

Terrorists are not stupid, they know we are vulnerable; however, due to politics the President and the Democrats will not enforce our current laws to protect this nation.

As the administration refuses to secure the border, it prepares to reward those who illegally crossed the border. In November, the President will grant amnesty to 6 million illegal aliens, who will receive work permits, Social Security cards and photo Id’s. This action will be popular with millions of Hispanic voters who will vote Democratic in greater numbers. Most of the newly minted Americans will join them in the Democratic Party, once their pathway to citizenship is complete.

The plan is to remake America into a one party country with Democrats unbeatable in national elections. If Texas is turned “blue” and becomes a Democratic state, it will become impossible for Republicans to win the presidency.

The Republican Congress has passed legislation to stop amnesty, but, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will not allow a vote. He wants to shield Democrats like Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu from a choice of whether to side with her party or her constituents.

Reid wants the President to act because it will help Democrats. In fact, he hopes the President goes “Real Big” when he bestows amnesty. Reid does not care that Obama will be breaking the law when he awards amnesty to lawbreakers.

The last time millions of illegal aliens were granted amnesty was in 1986, when Congress passed legislation and it was signed by the President. This time, Obama cannot get such legislation through the House, so he will act on his own, in violation of the U.S. Constitution.

When this is done, our country will be forever changed. The checks and balances between the branches of government will be destroyed as the President will be acting with dictatorial power.

In response, Congress should impeach Obama or remove funding so amnesty cannot be implemented by the government. The problem is that the House is led by the feckless John Boehner who will not challenge the President. The Senate will not act because it has a Democratic majority, unless that changes in November.

It is dangerous time for America. The threats at home and abroad are very serious, but we are being led by individuals who place politics ahead of national security, to the peril of every American. By: Jeff Crouere

I've been complaining for years about "politics before pragmatism" and how destructive it's become. I would caution against picking one person to take the blame for all of it. Here's a fact; Even if Obama should leave office TODAY, nothing would change. The failure of the Congress has been much more destructive than any Presidential Policy.

Congress agrees that it is hopelessly deadlocked, but the reasons stated differ, each side blaming the other. Which, ironically, is EXACTLY the reason. The Government has not kept pace with all the threats we face. It cannot do so, as it is consumed with politics and political planning no longer bears any relationship to reality. Current politicians have turned Governing into a reality TV series, similar to " big brother" and it's like.

Every citizen has a duty and a responsibility to do their part in the defense of our country. What every citizen can do, that would have the biggest impact - is vote and make sure everyone they know votes. Not just vote for who is popular that day, or vote for the party their family has always voted for, or vote for who raised the most money, or vote for who has the "best chance" of winning either. Every citizen should get informed and NOT by the MSM, which has become skewed beyond all reason, but by research and investigation. Then use common sense, which would suggest that if we keep putting the same two parties into power, in whatever mixture, we'll keep getting the same "politics before pragmatism" we're getting now.

In my opinion it's not a "Party" thing there are progressives in both parties. People just can't get the hold on the new names the Dem's have given to progressives which lean way left just as communalism does. Maybe these in the closet progressives should come out and run as the communist party.

I agree, there are Progressives in Both Party's, there are Socialist in each Party, there "Pinko's" in each Party, and there are anti-Americans in each Party...

When they get to Washington they have to learn to play well with others or they don't get on Committees and that's where the POWER Brokers are...

I remember during the '08 race someone said the truth about Obama to McCain and he said , "No, NO, Obama's a good American, BULL-SHIST, he a Marxist anti-American from the word "GO"!!!

Don't believe me look up his history, NO I'LL DO IT AND POST IT...

The truth is we are no long a free people, we are no longer a true Republic, we are a Fricking Nanny State, another words, Socialist Country, how that happened, you have to go back to Teddy Roosevelt, I believe he was the first true Progressive and then Woodrow Wilson, then FDR and the rest you know because you've lived it...

One other point and I'll shut up...

Republicans DID NOT VOTE IN '12, why! They didn't like Romney, some because he was Mormon and others because he was to nice a guy, grrrrrrrr!!! Don D.

A very long read but covers most of the bases. Would like to know more about how someone, "Enters Harvard law School, gets elected president of the Harvard Law Review and graduates," and that's all that is known about his time in Harvard. With all of this information available he still got elected in 2008. "What were we thinking?" Or were we even thinking? I knew he was a Socialist/Communist when he told Joe he Plumber we'd all be better off, "when the wealth was spread around," but I guess I'm one of the few who caught that one.
