More on Star-spangled Christianity: "No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please Christ"
The title for this thread is from 2Tim2:4. What it says to me, and fifty years of experience with mainstream Christianity will object to, is that when we are "born again," our one and only homeland, our true citizenship, is the Kingdom Of God. In a way, Patriotism becomes a sin or at least a stumbling block to faith, a kingdom divided. (I intimately know all the objections to my stance so fire away.) If I am wrong, which, or course, is possible and I am not declaring my view as Truth, I would appreciate the gentleness and respect Paul recommended. Look to educate, bring peacefully back into the Fold, and not judge. There are many scriptural references to the problems with Worldliness.
