The bad news is, the gap between the rich and the poor is widening and the middle class is shrinking. The worse news is this trend is increasing. If it continues, a second American revolution will be inevitable. what can be done about it?

The fools in DC have not a clue about how the economy works. If you want to start a business in America, it may take a year to get a business license do to tons of government regulations. Would you pay for months to rent a building that you can not use until you get your permit? Would you hire help months before? Now hear this in Singapore you can get a permit to open a business in less then one hour. Can anyone see what the problem is?

The big question is how can we prevent the middle class from a total collapse? What can we do to make sure that the wealth of this country is divided more evenly among all the people. If the current trend continues for another thirty to fifty years , we will have government for the richest two percent and the rest of us will be an underclass. This will lead to another revolution. Not the kind of revolution we had in 1776, but the kind the French had. A real class war.

What are the Democrats doing to bring about a government of the rich? The US Supreme Court helped bring about a plutocracy by two decisions. The first said that money is really free speech and therefore can not be limited in elections. This gave rich people the right to donate billions of dollars on candidates that favored the wealthy. The second said that corporations are people.

Will somebody on the right answer the question. How can we avoid the top one or two percent of the people from owning ninety percent or more of the property of this country? We can refuse to look at it now, but what do we do when it comes to pass? I don't want to become part of an underclass. Its not a question of giving away your hard earned bucks, its a problem of making sure our children will have the same opportunity we do. If the right has an answer to the comming socio-economic devastation, I'd like to hear it.

We need to ask why is it that only 2 % are making it big and so many are not, there is a answer and if we know what the cause is we may be able to work it to our advantage. Nothing lost we if we try. I know part of the problem is all the government regulations are a yoke around our necks.

The 400 wealthiest people in the nation own 66% of the wealth in the entire country while the poorest 48% have no wealth or are in debt. The vast majority of these people live in working families. Shifting toward taxing wealth rather than income would be a good start.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. The super rich are in a position to buy influence that the ordinory working Joe can't. He can hire armies of lawyers, spend millions of dollars on advertising and buy politicians. I know people that starting out with nothing and through vision, hard work, guts and brains became wealthy. I respect and admire the people that can do that. What about the worker that works forty plus hours a week and follows all the rules, doesn't get in trouble and tries to support his family? Doesn't he deserve a good life? Shouldn't he have the chance to send his kids to college, buy a home and someday retire without worrying where the next meal is going to come from. I'm not talking about owning a private jet, just getting what he works for. What about the millions of people like him?

You miss my point.....how does one get to that point to control all? Lets look at Bill Gates, just a kid, he loved playing with computer and computer code. He buys some old operating system from a guy in Oregon and turns it into DOS, using his smarts he becomes the richest man on earth. Bill lear, in vents a capacitor that is very small and and for years electrical engineers said it could not be made that small. Bill said "no one told that it couldn't be made that small." He made millions.
Seems to me we are told as kids we can make it.

My point is that is going to all change in the next 30-50 years if current trends continue. The middle class is shrinking, the working class is being driven into poverty and the wealthy are controlling more and more of the nations wealth. Not everybody is a Bill Gates. He is a gifted genius at what he does. Not everybody can be a Bill Gates, or a Bill Lear. We better change the way things are going or someday it will be changed for us.

You still do not undestand... last try, Henry Ford was illiterate, he had a 3rd grade education and could barely read or write. Yet he became a very powerful man. How was that? Tell me how he did it, if you can get to the answer you will understand what is wrong with America today. I have grave doubts you will.

Very true... citizens united is the beginning of the end.... All the wealth for the most part has been already transferred to the few who manipulate the system... it's time we look real hard at the few and what they are up to. ,

Yeah, I guess we could do like France did and kill all the rich. How did that work out?? No more smart phones, or gas for your car.
