New User, I am a Vet.. I am 72 yrs old. I watch the News and I can't help but wonder, why the Media wants to give this Nations defense secrets, out, so our enemies will know them? Why does the Media think they know what's on my mind? Why does the Media cut down the presidential office? I was thought to respect this office, right or wrong, and that if I had a beef with the Commander-In-Chief, I would use the chain of command. Or if I am "John Q. Public," I would send my elected official to bring my grievance to bare. But, not be disrespectful, or try and brain wash me into believing that I am some kind of idiot that don't have common sense. Who has freedom of speech here,me or the media? Can't riot against the media. That's a no-no. So where is our free speech? I may be old..... you know the rest of this story.
Welcome "RockPileIndian"..there are few of us "Oldies" here..Like what you say..makes sense and there is very little of that now days...

RockPileIndian,
Both you and the "media" have the right of free speech. It is more than just a "right" of the press, it is an "obligation" for the media to print all of the truth; something they have not done very well for a few years now.
I am with you on prohibiting news that would damage the national security (there are laws against that); when this happens we need to proceed legally and include the politician who deliberately made that news available to the media.
Looks like you just exercised your right to free speech, welcome to the forum..

One OldGeezer to another,
There is something that smells in the way the news is spread, the tone of their voices is not what I want to listen to. I feel like I should say," Ah! You poor thing?!" I don't believe I want the news telling me how I should feel. I'll make that decision on my own. I may be new and all and I have an obligation as a private citizen to be on the same level as the media, what makes them so powerful, why does it same they have a secret agenda. You say "Obligation" like it's the law. and that the news is just using their right the same as I, but there is a big difference, I am just one person, Is the media one person, or made up of many people running like a congress of some small nation?

Keep in mind there is use of propaganda being used in all forms of our current media, in ALL outlets. Not like before, as it is legal now in a way not seen since the 40's.
It seems our esteemed leaders of both parties allowed a repeal of the Smith-Mundt Act that not only allows the use of propaganda on Americans, but it seems they can even use taxpayer dollars to push this propaganda on us as well.
This repeal I speak of was passed w/ this years Defence Budget back in January. So if you feel manipulated by watching your corporate media outlets such as Fox, CNN, ect.... that might explain why.
I recommend a new media outlet.

Im sorry, where are my manners, i should have started w/ Hello, and welcome to OPP, here you will see the point of view of many different sides, some you might like, some you might not, but you will find like minded people to discuss topics at hand, enjoy!
Into the rabbit hole we go :)
Owners of 18 out of 20 top news media outlets such as Fox,CNN, NBC to name a few are all members of the CFR (Counsil of Foreign Relations), you might remember them from the seventies as the had a huge push for gun control, and were proponents of America no longer utilizing gold to back the dollar.
They have the same agendas, only go about them from different angles, but most seem to coincide w/ agenda 21.
Thank you, Si Parabelum
I have turned away from the cable news channels for my listening pleasure and now get my news on the net work channels like CBS, NBC and ABC.

Now, Alex. Is that a way to introduce yourself to a new person? Our newcomer has already stated his respect for the presidency - agreeable or not. You immediately start off with your name calling. Great first impression. Give him time to get used to your crudeness at least!

RockPileIndian - welcome. You will find a lot of disrespect shown on this forum (please note reply from Alex) - not only for President Obama but for each other. You will have to make your own decision as to which posters you wish to communicate. Have fun!

the first thing to learn is to use the "quote reply"button not the reply
