From what disease is President Biden suffering...
...and how does it affect his presidency?
By author Randy Weir
Psychologists call it “coercive indoctrination”. The more commonly used term is “brainwashing”. Millions of delusional Trump cultists have been brainwashed into thinking (believe it or not) that Trump was actually doing a good job. These poor souls actually think the election was rigged, that Biden has dementia, and that Trump will somehow return to office—maybe even as early as this month.
But Biden isn’t the only one suffering from this mass conditioning of our weakest-minded citizens. It affects all of us who have to deal with these people on a daily basis.
So far, they don’t seem to be having a direct affect on his presidency. Fortunately, with democratic control of both chambers of Congress, our legislative branch isn’t concerned with the delusions of Trump cultists, so they aren’t letting the 25–30% of those who believe or parrot this propaganda impact their jobs. The concern is that more of these mentally ill people could actually win elections in red states and that the GOP might retake one or both chambers of Congress during Biden’s time in office. If that happens, not only do we have to deal with more incompetent buffoons like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Marsha Blackburn who are already in office, but even the somewhat rational republicans like Lindsey Graham (sad that he’s one of the most reasonable one that comes to mind, I know) who will continue to vote against our country’s interests out of fear of losing their seat if they don’t pander to these poor victims.
Obviously, what we need to do is try to find some way to help these people, but politically that’s difficult. Imagine if Bill Clinton had said we need to lock up all the people who voted for GHW Bush because they are brainwashing victims. As one of them myself, I admit many of us were, but it would have been viewed as though Clinton were actually trying to brainwash these people himself. Granted the vast majority of Trump voters are inarguably brainwashed and need intervention, but not everyone realizes that, even among people who were sane enough to vote against Trump. Even Mitt Romney would object to putting Trump voters into mental hospitals and he clearly is one of the few republicans in power who realizes how mentally sick these people are. We’ll just have to hope that they can somehow break themselves out of this mass delusion, and fortunately many of them have broken free and are continuing to break free. But this will continue to be a problem the Biden administration has to deal with, and that we’ll probably continue to fight to a lesser degree for years after Biden is out of office and even after Trump is long dead.

No, Bahmer, The Babylon Bee is satirical in nature. I don't believe for a moment that Mr. Weir's article was.
My only problem with his opinion is that too many, yet not all Trump supporters are as he writes of them.
And, it is no worse than what is often written of Biden/democratic voters mindsets.
This article only shows the author too has been brainwashed. Its a sad state of affairs when one sees just how easily it is for the media to manipulate people - on both sides.

His hate for Trump is driving him deeper every day. It will consume him.

I would have thought that you be an ex Marine would have been on the bandwagon for a president that for four years neither started a war but in fact brought a good portion of our military home.

Wrong, I did not read it or respond to you about it. iI do not have to read the opinion pieces you post. They are all the same. Totally without facts.

I should have asked you if you are having a cold spell in Lake Whitney and that maybe that could be the reason for posting that article. I thought maybe you might be trying to get a fire going on here to help keep you warm.

This part of the article "…..who will continue to vote against our country’s interests out of fear of losing their seat if they don’t pander to these poor victims....". is true of all who go to Washington. They enter poor and after a few years return home with millions. Real success stories. Both parties unfortunately. Vote for a third party candidate, maybe they will be more honest. Cannot be worse.

Sad but true-- most of the posters on OPP are trumpers and they believe there was mass voter fraud and the election was stolen. They back voter suppression efforts aimed a Democrat leaning citizens and have no scruples when
it comes to spreading lies and disinformation in order for their team to win.
