It's because we're a stupid people. We let politicians do whatever they want to us, live life high on the hog at our expense and pit brother against brother to facilitate their own agenda, all while pretending ( barely ) that they give a shit about us. Why do we send money overseas and let our own children starve? Simple, because the political hacks in BOTH parties think it looks good.

We keep letting them get away with this crap, because we let them keep us up in arms about the dire consequences if we don't. Personally, I'd like to begin another grand experiment and try governing ourselves.......................without nary a dem or repub in the mix.
