They are great at abusing power, but when they have answer a challenge they run and hide. They wanted witnesses to try and bolster their failing case in Trump's trial until they were going to have to testify and be questioned about their words and actions. Then they ran and hid and wanted it over. They are cowards and a supreme danger to America.

Liberty, It was Trump that abused his power. Calling for a breach of the Capitol building, definitely is an abuse of power. Hopefully he will be locked up with his enablers.
I don't know why the witnesses were called off, and either do you, but it certainly wasn't because of the reason you state. The Republicans in the Senate were the cowards. They refused to hold the sociopath in chief responsible for the worst single act of a POTUS in the history of the republic. I believe they are destroying the Republican Party.

The democommies backed off calling witnesses because the GOP said they would then subpoena Pelosi, Schummer, Schiff, Naddler, Kamala Harris and all the others who called for their followers to fight like hell; especially those who egged on ANTIFA and BLM like Pelosi and Harris. They'd like to claim it was because calling witnesses would drag this out over months and as long as the senate trial is ongoing, the senate cannot do other work or the senate.

But make no mistake, it was the threat of the GOP calling witnesses that stopped the dems from doing it. Had they had pretrial hearings, they could have done all that ahead of time but they were in such a rush of idiocy they were blinded to rational thought.
