Just a plug for my post "Black Friday, RINOs, GAGAs and Immigration (non) Reform." This immigration fiasco is happening now in the Senate. Please read, it's important. Ask your Senators about some of the specific lies being promulgated. Put them on the spot. The reason we are in such a fix now is our own failure to hold these jokers accountable. Let them know you're paying attention, making a list and checking it twice. They HATE IT when you do that, it makes it ever so much harder to obfuscate. This Immigration bill is not more important than the ever popular Second Amendment, but it is certainly more imminent right now. Thank You, fellow readers and posters.

That bill is intended to advance amnesty to illegal immigrants and nothing else. It was written by 8 people, most of whom are establishment and that doesn't say anything about party. When I say establishment I am talking about people who are only wanting to be re-elected and these clowns think they will get Latino votes for being in favor of it.

There are many things in the bill that are aimed at sucking people in but when a bill like this one has 800 pages we must turn it back for a rewrite. I have told my Senators a vote for this thing is a vote against them next time. One has 2 years left and the other has 4 but I have a trap door mind about things like this.

If I'm not mistaken, your governor is Brownback. It's a shame we can't repeal the 17th Amendment, bcause I cannot see a legislature and governor like you have now electing a RINO Senator.

Yep, you progressives really do think that no matter how we get it amnesty is the only way to go. That is the part you people want so badly, isn't it?

What about when God Reagan signed an amnesty bill in 1986. Or is it okay, because it was God Reagan.

Stupid is as stupid does. You do know that that law was nothing but an amnesty and had a huge penalty for those who hired people who weren't citizens. When will you progressives understand that just having a law but not enforcing it just won't do any good. That law coming talks about strengthening the border but nobody among the RHINOs and Dems who belong to that 8 really understands that that part has to come before the part about amnesty comes.

Having more gun control laws won't do a damned thing unless they are enforced and the 50 or so we have now haven't been enforced but leaners want more of them.

Everybody called it amnesty and it was supposed to have to be the last law dealing with amnesty. I guess it wasn't, was it?

But you just said

"You do know that that law was nothing but an amnesty"

But you are right, it wasn't the last law needed.

grazeem, Did you even READ my post? Have you LOOKED at the bill you claim is "better than nothing"? Perhaps you should ask "God Obama" how we are supposed to pay for more than 30,000,000 poorly educated, low skilled immigrants over the next 10 to 15 years. No pun intended, this is a conservative estimate. This country is on the verge of bankruptcy thanks to the 17 trillion in debt we already have even WITHOUT the "amnesty." One more time: Most of these people are freeloaders who will begin gaming the system for all the benefits they can get as soon as they reach this country. Most of the illegals already in this country are receiving them in spite of not being eligible for them. Eighty-six billion dollars worth last year alone. Once more, there is NO border security, NO E-verify, NO requirement to prove how long they have been in this country, and if you think that these wetbacks will wait for years before they start receiving benefits, you obviously still believe in the Easter Bunny. This bill is nothing more than a bribe for the Hispanic vote, which the Democrats will win because they are so much better at promising everything (for free) and delivering nothing except more debt. There is no free lunch. Someone will have to pay for this and I can guarantee that this tsunami of leeches ain't the someones. As I said, there is a "perfect storm" of a tidal wave of 30,000,000 freeloaders about to overwhelm the boondoggle known as "Obamacare." Even after the (Pick a number) required number of years, these people will suck more money out of the economy than they pay in taxes. Read the damn bill. Google it, it's called S.744. All the things we are being promised it contains such as border security, E-Verify, payment of back taxes, and ineligibility for benefits are actually AMENDMENTS to the bill that have already been voted down and are NOT IN THE BILL! The sales pitch on this garbage is a mixture of wishful thinking and deliberate, calculated lies and half truths.

Banjo you make a couple of statements that are just not true.

Saying that "Most of these people are freeloaders "is just not true. I work with these people every day. The go to work and pay their bills. Their children go to school, and are not problems.

That is in contrast to the white people, in the same income range, where the kids are drug adicted, and pains in the ass, and the parents are on the dole, in one way or the other.

So yes I think this bill is not perfect, and is way better than nothing.

You representation of the immagrent, is just wrong.

Perhaps, grazeem, you know a better class of immigrants than I do. Ilive in a town that is roughly 25% Hispanic, very few are citizens, Most work under the table, almost all of them are receiving some sort of assistance. I have a friend who is an Economics Professor (who prefers to remain anonymous). He gave some people in one of his classes an assignment; to pose as a 19 year old unmarried Latina non citizen, with one illegitimate child and apply for as much Government aid as possible. The results ranged from $24,000 to $32,000 per year. In Los Angeles County, just about 1/3 of the population is illegal, and more than 90% receive benefits they are not eligible for, by gaming our sieve like system. Perhaps, as I said, you are associated with a better class of illegals, that does not change the fact that they are illegals, and every day they are in this country they break the law. Most of their taxpayer footed Medical bills are deliveries of "anchor babies." They come to this country pregnant, deliberately. We pay for their education, their medical and dental care, their legal fees and we buy their groceries via food stamps, while they send more than 56 billion dollars a year that we know about back to their home countries. Perhaps you know a better class of illegals, as I said, but they are not typical.

You sound like the kind of guy that would think "Life starts at conception." If that is true, or even if it is not, the child is a citizen, being born, so is entitled to benifits.

Of course they send money home, as did the Irish, the italians, the Sweeds. It is what immagrants do, and the second generation revitilizes the populious.

Look at Boston, "Irish need not apply," Now they run things. There are many other examples.

You are just a bigot, that is afraid of change.

In answer to your post, there are a couple of salient points that you have overlooked; firstly, I have nothing against immigrants. The word "immigrant" presupposes legality. My problem is with illegal ALIENS. I feel that giving them amnesty is a slap in the face to every LEGAL IMMIGRANT of WHATEVER RACE OR NATIONALITY. These people did it right, they did not cheat. If being prejudiced against criminals makes me a bigot, then mea culpa.
One more thing: There is an app on every computer I have ever seen called spell check; you should make use of it. The following are the correct spellings of the five misspells you managed in four short sentences:
benefits, Italians, Swedes, immigrants, and I think the last one you meant to say "populace." There is no such word as
"populious," in any language. If I am truly guilty of being a bigot, as you have libeled me, at least I'm a bigot who can spell, and one who understands punctuation and capitalization where indicated.
