Needs a criminal investigation

My governor reported that the State's unemployment account has a $650,000,000 surplus. I thought I had misheard, but it turns out I heard right. With so many people out of work, how can there be ANY surplus, but nearly a billion dollars?

Obviously, the only way a surplus can occur, is by not paying out any money. I found out the governor outsourced unemployment claims....................to an out of State company. Why not hire Arkansans to do this job? Next on the list of outrages, is the fact that the out of State company receives bonuses..................for denying claims. Third in this litany of crimes, is the fact that the Governor only used FEDERAL money to pay out what few claims were approved. The 650 million is the amount collected from AR businesses for their unemployment insurance premiums.

This is the work of a republican governor, no less, and it will be impossible to get the AG to look in to this, because she is ALSO a republican, ditto for the Sec. of State. I'll have to sue, but by the time any action is taken to gather evidence, the evidence will have disappeared. You know how it goes.

I want to know who among the Governors administration and who among the legislature, have a financial interest in the company processing unemployment claims. I also want to know who has financial ties to the out of state company operating our scholarship lottery, the out of state pharmacy benefit manager, the out of state disability waiver company and the dozens of other out of state companies AR taxpayers are on the hook for.

Are our State citizens and companies too stupid to handle this kind of work? Why are we outsourcing ANYTHING at all? Something definitely stinks here and I intend to air out the State. My next stop will be the US attorney's office, and since they now work for a democrat, they might be inclined to investigate.

Please don't misunderstand me, this isn't an attack on repubs, that just happens to be who is driving the cart at this time, it's an attack on corruption and we all know BOTH party's are capable of turning a blind eye to such egregious behavior.

Was your State locked down? My state did not lock down and we also are doing well...the Fed provided States with massive amounts for unemployment.... check if your unemployment rose significantly... if not there probably was a surplus of money.....

How come, any time there is a story about a Republican politician, it always involves corruption?

If what you say is correct, they should be investigated.

To bad you never offer the same accommodation when it is Democrats in power, like that crooked illegitimate President biden.

But good luck on your local matter. Corruption is not acceptable anywhere.

Thats not whos driving the cart.... did you know? When you file they now ask a series of leeding questions so you will agree covid is the direct result of your unemployment. ... now you are considered a temporary layoff, you get more funds weekly ( 1,345.00 per week for ones i am aware of) also... the employer is not responsible for any of that payment like normal... the federal gov is picking it up.... and the best part.... they are required to make ...0... work searches .

Yes... it was also handled out of state in lieu of the Texas Workforce Commission.

This ain't the state governments doing this..... contract workers processing claims in another state???? This is bigger than that, and i dont see the benefit to it... or the endgame of who this will benefit.

We have yet to receive ona call from UI commission regarding a claim from any employess we have laid off the last year.... they call on every claim to verify empoyment and reason for discharge..... not a one, automatic upon filing now. One guy i fired for being drunk when he came into work after a long nite at the titty bar..... his claim was granted

Yea....... stay tuned.

You cannot lie to a liar, and you cannot steal from a thief..... they are the same, thats why.

Nah...... the feds are taking the cost burden of UI, so states would lock down easier, IMO anyways...... and people still get some funds, the local economy survives on that life support, along with designating construction personnel as essential to keep those billions rolling through and keeping some production alive at the same time.
The state gets UI paid to them for every employee, from the company that employs them..... and are spending fed money and not what has been collected at the state level..... there will be alot of UI money the states are not using they collected..... uncle sam has it covered.

Be willing to bet every state is getting UI funded by the feds, that burden alone would put companies out of business if they paid compensation like usual..... it was about 10 grand per month last i was in a meeting where it was discussed. ... not my deelio, but knowing dont hurt.

Im thinking the corruption is the forced lockdowns, funding UI makes sense.... keeps most people somewhat satisfied and less likely to raise hell about shutting everything down... except for those essential pot shops and liquor stores.... drunk and stoned works well for a submissive outcome.

Just one Douche' bags most humble and honest opinion. mine.
