The Rapture
By Joel Joseph
Researched by Pastor Gary Boyd
Jan. 26th 2021

Introduction:
This edition is an important review of the sixty odd editions I’ve written dealing with the rapture. Because this is an always advancing story, the material here has a new relevant slant to it. I am including some new material as well. This may have to be done in two editions.
God uses His ancient word to bring us present day truth. It is the Spirit of God that enlivens His word making it always relevant.
This is the most exciting subject imaginable. It is earth shattering and will cause great upheavals, changes and blessing for many.
The word “rapture” is in the Bible. The Latin, Bible-word, “Rapere” means rapture, to snatch away and be transported from one place to another.
The word “Harpazo” (the Greek NT word for rapture) means “To seize, snatch or carry off by force out and away from.”
Some other original words used in the Bible to describe the rapture are: “epairo”, “anabaino”, “analambano”.
What I really love about the rapture is that it’s just so insane! So much so that all unbelievers think rapture believers are as mad as Noah’s ark believers. Yeeahooo, welcome to the madman’s club!
Stop and think of this: You will go in one of two raptures! You will be forcibly taken by God in the rapture to heaven, or forcibly raptured from the earth by God to hell. (Read on it will surprise you!)
The rapture will be totally exclusive, and far fewer than most people think, will go. The rapture is totally politically incorrect and will be a giant slap in the face for the politically correct. The rapture is only for those who are righteous by new birth.
Revelation 21:27 (New Jerusalem) “There shall by no means enter it, anything that defiles or causes abomination or lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”
1 Corinthians 6:9 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God...”
When will the rapture occur?
The rapture will NOT occur at any, unknown time as most say. Yet the “no one knows” brigade keep looking for the rapture under every molehill, behind every door and in every part of the sky! – What a contradiction! Then when cornered, they say, “We’re just looking for the signs.” This they say after saying it is a “sign-less event!”
No wonder so many people get turned off by anything to do with the rapture.
The rapture is the end of the church dispensation of grace. It concludes the church age and immediately begins the dispensation called the tribulation, which is the final seven years of Old Covenant time.
(Again, I warn against the teachers that place a long gap of anything up to 10-years between the rapture and the tribulation start. They talk rubbish. Besides, there is not one verse to back it.)
The coming of the tribulation has numerous preceding signs.
Are the seven Feasts of the Lord in a predetermined order, with their dates cast in stone? Yes they are. And people who change the order or dates get cursed!
Each of the feasts points to a major prophetic world milestone with precision. For example: The crucifixion happened on the day of Passover, which is what Passover points to.
According to the plot of the feasts, we are now in the Pentecost era, right at the very end of it. The next one to find its prophetic fulfilment is Rosh Hashanah / Feast of Trumpets. This feast has numerous, incredibly revealing details of the new beginning and the tribulation with its judgements. It also has, at the same time, many items of type, relating to the rapture.

Contained in the Feast of Trumpets are items that can apply to the tribulation and rapture together. This feast could find no other historic factors to meet the required fulfilments, besides the tribulation / rapture, and it is next.
The next Feast of Trumpets will begin on September 7th or 8th on the sighting of the new moon. If it is not this year’s it will be next year’s feast. It is impossible that it will not be on a Feast of Trumpets.
The last days, including the tribulation are referred to as “The days of Noah.” Noah knew exactly when the flood would begin. (type of the tribulation):
Genesis 7:4 “After seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights...”
Many claim and teach that the rapture will happen on a Feast of Pentecost. They have many legitimate reasons, but a Pentecost rapture would mean that there are two fulfilments of the Feast of Pentecost and none for the Feast of Trumpets, which has hundreds of beautiful signs in type within it.

If you don’t see the major prophetic importance of the seven feasts of the Lord, you have been blinded by counterfeit christianity, or blinded by replacement theology, or blinded by God, or are basically biblically ignorant.
So, what about “no one knows the time, day or hour”?
What follows is a most important discourse on a familiar subject.
But first: Albert Barnes: (1800s) “Notes on the Bible. “Know” is sometimes rendered “make known.” One needs to go with context.
Mark 13:32-35 “Of that day and hour no one knows (or makes known), neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son but only the Father. Take heed, watch and pray for you do not know when the time is (or which division of the night)...Watch therefore for you do not know when the Master of the house is coming – in the evening or midnight, at the crowing of the rooster or in the morning.”
The unexpected hour does not mean, “nobody knows,” it refers to four divisions of night into which the Jews divided the night. So it is very clearly speaking of the very short, specific time of a day.
Matthew 24:36 “Of that day and hour no man makes known, only the Father will make it known.”
To be correct, you must follow the rules. The subject is “of that day.” That means the conditions of the day and not the time on the calendar!
If you believe in imminence you can’t say the Lord’s coming is near or far. That’s not imminence. If you say we can know the season, again, that’s not imminence, it actually is the state of being likely to happen very soon, or coming very soon.
As the Bible has clearly shown, above in Mark 13:32-35, we are to watch and pray; for the Lord may come at any one of the night watches of a particular day.
This is further brought out in Matthew 25:6-10 where the watchmen are sent to the rooftop to watch for the bridegroom's coming. Logic says they wouldn’t be up there for years watching! They would have gone up at the start of the night.
The verse that seems to upset the applecart is Matthew 25:13. It does not!
Matthew 25:13 “Watch therefore for you know neither the day nor hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”
All this verse is saying that the very precise specific day or hour is not known. This is brought out wonderfully in the Feast of Trumpets, which is also known as the “Feast of which no one knows the day or hour.” – And that is because the feast begins on one of two days, at sunset, when the new moon is sighted.
At the end of it all we can safely say that we may not know the very precise time, but we most certainly can and will know the time as it approaches.
Those who claim the rapture is just escapism are generally the unsaved. It is they who won’t escape. They don’t like the idea of anyone being given privileged status and escaping.
Deceived rapture watchmen:
There are so many teachers out there who are deceived. None of them are led by the Spirit, because they have all been wrong. Some are so insane it’s a shame – and they yet have followers!
Here are some shocking, classic examples of recent big, failed rapture predictions:
●It would happen in 1988. It would happen on May 21st (Harold Camping). ●It would happen on September 23rd 2017 when there was an astronomical sign (which never was – look it up.) ●These people changed their dates a few times.
●The rapture would happen on the Feast of Purim, because “that’s when Jews get drunk in the streets.” ●It would happen 33 days after the death of Ravi Zachariah, because 33 is a God-number, and “I had a confirmation, seeing a car with a number plate saying “Leo” and Leo is a lion and Jesus is the Lion”, so that’s when the rapture will be!●The rapture is going to happen on this or that date because “I had a dream and God told me to tell you it will be then and it’s 100% for sure”! - Deceived liars, all of them!
Others are too embarrassing to even mention!
Don’t attribute the same sort of authority of the word of God to a dream. God can and does occasionally speak through dreams, just be very careful who you receive from.
Some are out to hoodwink you and some are so perpetually, perfectly stupid.
By the way, some of the Revelation 12-sign teachers of failed prophecy also taught of many things rooted in the occult like the cursed god Nibiru, also called Marduk. He is not a rogue planet, but a cursed god generating curses. Some of them were also flat-earth believers. One of these idiot watchmen teaches others that we are already in the tribulation because some things look familiar to the seals of Revelation 6!
►The greater problem is that these failed watchmen, cheapen, ridicule and cast doubt and suspicion on prophecy. They need to get out of ministry. I’m not talking about someone being wrong here or there, but with these, there is a consistent pattern of them being horribly wrong.
If as a teacher / watchman you are wrong on just one or two major things, you lose all trust.
Funny things about this: The brigade of always-wrong false watchmen out there, are also into the Babylonian, Roman pagan customs of Christmas and Easter and can’t see their deception by Rome!
This is the time for accuracy in the word, and its application. This is the time of a great increase in deception, and from false teaching from false watchmen who will become more and more prevalent and empowered by spirits of error.
If Satan can interfere with and confuse the prophetic word, his deception is working!

Rapture predictions give the perpetrators a sense of self importance. It elevates their pride. They can’t seem to realise that in cheapening the word of prophecy they damage its potential to be a life-changer for many who now have ongoing doubts.
They also make a mockery of the true watchmen and create unnecessary suspicion over it all. The biggest thing of all is that they prove absolutely that their false word is not of the Lord.
How can you believe or trust the word of failed rapture predictors? How can you trust the word of false prophets? If you do, you have some screws loose and deserve to be deceived.
Pre trib proof:

The big argument between pre – mid – post will only be fully resolved by the rapture. But as with all truth much is hidden just below the surface, it is there, albeit obscured from the masses.
Firstly, this is quite logical:
The antichrist and his followers, on earth, blaspheme our Lord in heaven with His church in heaven. That alone is a spectacular proof of a pre-tribulation rapture. (Revelation 13:6, 12:12)
Revelation 19:14 (The marriage feast of the Lord has just concluded in heaven (Verse9) “The armies in heaven clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.”
Fine linen, white and clean is a clear reference to the righteousness of the saints.
Revelation 19:8 “To her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.”
(The “wrong” brigade claims that these white horse riders are angels. They are wrong – read the verses again.)
These verses read correctly prove without any doubt that there is a large group of now, forever righteous saints, in heaven while the tribulation is on the go on earth and they return with our Lord at the Second Coming.
The horror rapture:
John 10:12-13 “He who is a hireling and not the shepherd, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf captures (harpazo / raptures) the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.”
The original word “capture”, used here is “harpazo” meaning rapture. In other words, his capture is a rapture of those sheep.
The “hireling” is in fact a counterfeit shepherd. He is not the real deal, although he looks and seems just like a shepherd. He is a fraud, and deceiver and a great pretender. He has not been appointed or called to his office.
But look at what he does. He sees trouble coming. His concern is immediately for himself. He runs and then Satan raptures those sheep! But raptured to where?
The true saints will be raptured to heaven for a glorious seven year union and marriage feast. The untrue saints will be raptured to the feast of slaughter and vultures.
Revelation 19:16-18 “His name was written on His robe and on His thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, ‘Come and gather together for the great supper of the great God, so that you may eat the flesh of kings, and commanders and mighty men, of horses and riders, of everyone slave and free, small and great.”
The rapture to heaven is coming quickly while the forced rapture to hell of unbelievers and counterfeits will happen just as quickly. Never the twain shall meet!
The church is the light of the world, but also its salt and salt is a preservative, adds flavour and is seen as judgement and hindrance of decay. Do you see why the world will fall apart when the church has gone in rapture.
The prophetic word is so current, alive and relevant to today and the future. It is inexhaustible and its interpretation always has new application. Those who don’t touch prophecy have a message as boring as they are themselves, but even worse, they are dangerous to your spiritual health.
Finally
In these days the only place of security is in the word of God!
The rapture expands your horizons in more ways than one.
The pre-tribulation rapture is a fear killer and hope and peace producer. Fear is sin!
Redemption and expectation go together. As expectation gets destroyed people don’t seek redemption.
Job 14:13-14 “That You would conceal me until your wrath is past, that You would appoint me a set time and remember me! If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service, I will wait, till my change comes.”
