I came to this site to get an idea of how people look at what is going on in the world today.

I keep trying to express my views to see responses to them.

So in trying to express my self to a person I get carried away with some thoughts.

I wish to reach a larger group for feed back & started a new Topic.

The issue was about the rich paying most of the taxes.

The statement made was in answer to a statement I made about the riches few having control over government.

The reply was "If the rich did indeed control government why did they pay so much of the taxes"

Well they don't control every thing yet. But they are sure working on getting it all.

The whole tax system favors investment income over taxes on wages.

I earn money in more ways than one & I do my own taxes.

Yes I read the rules on taxation.

You seem to want to pass your self off as a person who knows what is going on.

Well I guess it is just a matter of you having money & wanting more & wish not to upset the system that gets you more from those who you feel are rewarding you.

How do you think people have gotten as rich as they have.

The Capitalist systems bottom line is you should get more out than you put in. But that only works for the few.

This is a pretty closed system that is closing out more people every day.

If you are as good as you seem to come across as you think you are. Then I say as I feel about my self. As a person who don't need or want to play with a stacked deck.

Yes no matter how you look at it the deck is stacked. So unless you are one of the few & need the stacked deck to keep what you have I say join the crowd of people that holds the system together. Those that go to work each day for a wage & are carrying the economy on their back.

The middle class that every day is shrinking.

For if this nation is to be saved it will only be saved because it has a strong middle class. So no matter where you are in the standings of wealth it is important that the Middle Class is strong & healthy.

As a nation we can only carry a few truly wealthy people. But we can have most of us enjoy a sound life style.

I don't look for an over night shift in this, but a reversal in the trend. Putting more people in position to enjoy the fruits of what they help provide.

This should come from the private sector, but if that don't work the public sector must do what it can to see that money moves through the system. Increase taxes or increase aid programs to support those that fall through the cracks in the system.

The definition of the word Conundrum is: something that is puzzling or confusing.

Here are six Conundrums of socialism in the United States of America:

1. America is capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.

2. Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.

3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.

4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.

5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.

6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.

These next three short sentences tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1. We are advised to NOT judge all Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we ARE encouraged to judge all gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.

3. We are cutting benefits for our veterans, pay raises for our military, charging soldiers for their meals while serving in the Middle East and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

Am I the only one missing something???

As far as I am concerned, we stopped being a capitalist society when bailed out the banks. In a true capitalist society you rise or fall depending upon your skills. To big to fail, BS. If I make ridiculous investments in my company, I pay the price. The tax payers are not asked to save me from my own stupidity nor should they be.

I agree with you. I would take it a step further, what is ruining my country is Greed. When 1% of the country controls most of the wealth, we are on the road to ruin. When corporations are given the same rights as human beings, something is very wrong. Congress needs to address this typo and change the laws. Corporations are not people and are not entitled to the same rights.

You are one who put things in perspective very well. If this was posted in the bias media where it should be, perhaps more eyes would be opened to the type government we really have.

The old adage is no longer true about politicians, i e. "You get what you pay for."

Any village idiot could have run this country as bad as it is now. While we still are the greatest free nation in the world, we are no longer slowly going down a slope. The Government has added grease. We are not slipping we are sliding down to disaster.

The theory used to be, the higher you paid a person, the better qualified they would be. Now we have people who are educated well beyond their intelligence running this country and I fear that the majority of Americans don't give a hoot.

The wages paid to our elected officials should be enough to sustain them; however, the money they steal, embezzle, or beg from PACs makes them richer than their wildest dreams for life.

When the man comes knocking at your door not to give you something, but to take everything you have, perhaps then there will be an awakening, but sad to say, then it will be to late.
Thanks for posting this.

No, I think you pretty much nailed it. Many don't see the pattern here. The middle class have always been an obstacle to unlimited profits, as they have formed unions and such. By eliminating the middles class, the wealthy will be able to set whatever terms for survival they desire. They will still need workers, but they'll only need to provide subsistence living.

Soon, the wealthy will own all housing ( by buying mortgages, etc. ), control all utility services, control food production and distribution and have absolute control over wages. They already control every level of Government, so there will be no obstacles there. If you want to live, you'll work where you're told to and accept whatever pay you're offered - and you won't complain, or you'll wind up on the street with death not far away.

You have NOT missed anything!

Anyone with half a brain knows your 3 statements are sadly true!

The problem is what can we do about it?

Our collective vote may be the ONLY remedy but too many Americans follow the liberal line of a free ride.

Thanks, Snoopy. I am not sure, however, that our vote really counts anymore. The dimwits and repulsives are both just arms of the corporate party and it matters not to the 1% banksters and corporate elite which puppet the sheople elect.

In fact, I am not sure that IF the sheople woke up and elected a third party candidate without strings to the 1% elite that he would not get the same treatment Kennedy got with his signing of Executive Order 11110. The EO returned to the federal government, specifically the Treasury Department, the Constitutional power to create and issue currency -money - without going through the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank. President Kennedy's Executive Order 11110 gave the Treasury Department the explicit authority: "to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or standard silver dollars in the Treasury." This means that for every ounce of silver in the U.S. Treasury's vault, the government could introduce new money into circulation based on the silver bullion physically held there. As a result, more than $4 billion in United States Notes were brought into circulation in $2 and $5 denominations. $10 and $20 United States Notes were never circulated but were being printed by the Treasury Department when Kennedy was assassinated. It appears obvious that President Kennedy knew the Federal Reserve Notes being used as the purported legal currency were contrary to the Constitution of the United States of America.

Perhaps the assassination of JFK was a warning to all future presidents not to interfere with the private Federal Reserve's control over the creation of money. It seems very apparent that President Kennedy challenged the "powers that exist behind U.S. and world finance".

Just MHO.
