The Light of the World

We are now in the eight-day season of Hanukkah (10th to 18th).This is a festival to commemorate the dedication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem at the time of the Maccabean Revolt. It is also known as the Festival of Lights.
The temple was desecrated and destroyed. It was marked by the golden menorah being stolen from the temple. This is a type of the desecration of all things holy and godly today, and also a type of the abomination of desolation in the new temple soon to come.
At the rededication of the temple, one vial of oil was found with enough oil to light one menorah candle, lasting for one day, but it miraculously lit eight which lasted for eight days. The lighting of one candle per day takes place in the tradition that has ensued.
The fully lit menorah is to be displayed in the window of Jewish homes, so that it can be seen from outside. It all speaks of the miracle of God’s light, and His presence in the home.
There is a terrible correlation and parallel in the fact that the Nazi’s forcibly displayed their Swastika, a twisted broken cross, on the homes of Jews in Europe during WW11, proclaiming death to Jews and victory to the Nazis’! This is also the motivation behind the desecration of Jewish graves with the Nazi Swastika today.
But it is the menorah of God’s miraculous Light and life that has endured, and will forever!
John 8:12 “Yeshua spoke to the people and said, ‘I am the Light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 1:9 “The true Light gives light to every man that comes into the world.”
John 9:5 “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
Then came the great switch over:
Matthew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
This verse speaks of the transfer of light from Messiah to the hearts of believers. It is much like the glorious transfer of the word from God, to Messiah to our hearts. (John 1:1, John 1:14, Hebrews 10:16)
That makes us unique in that we have the light of God in us, and the word of God in us by His Spirit. That makes all true believers more valuable than gold, diamonds or any such precious things.

The light won’t go out:
In a terrible ominous decree, the Israeli government for the first time ever ordered the Hanukkah lights not to shine. This was to be part of their new coronavirus curfew. But like the miracle of the Hanukkah lamps, the government failed to enforce the decree. It was struck down yesterday.
So now all over Israel and in Jewish homes worldwide, the nine-branched Hanukkah menorah shines on, heralding the coming of the true Light to Israel. The Hanukkah Menorah has four lamps on each side with the central lamp elevated above them which is called the “servant lamp”, because from it the others are lit. That speaks of our servant Messiah, the Light who lights all things of God.
But tragically, the world can’t see this Light of glory, because it lives in rebellion.
John 1:5 “The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
John 3:19 “This is the condemnation, that Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.”
On a larger or national scale, the diagram below represents the classic stages of the deterioration and fall of a nation when it turns away from the light of the things of God. We could rightly say that this illustrates the stupidity of man who does not learn from history!

I’ve said many times, freedom is not freedom if it allows freedom to be destroyed. Freedom and liberty must always have the restraint of a godly environment upon it.
Right now we are seeing the forerunner of the removal of restraint from this world!
The true light will really go out:
If true believers are the “light of the world” as revealed above, then be sure of one thing, the rapture will see immediate, deep darkness descend on the world.
Isaiah 60:2 “Behold darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people, but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you (Israel.)
Note something incredible from the verse above: Deep darkness will fall on the world, and the glory of the Lord will arise on Israel and the Jews. That speaks very succinctly of a pre-tribulation rapture, because it is in the tribulation that the main light of glory comes to Israel...and it will come suddenly! But it will come in a tumultuous storm of upheaval in the world.
Jeremiah 6:26 “O daughter of My people(Israel) clothe yourselves with sackcloth, and roll about in ashes! Make mourning as for an only son, most bitter lamentation; for the plunderer will suddenly come upon us.”
Only the absence of the church will cause real deep darkness to fall. And by the way, that deep darkness will also fall on the half-baked, left behind, dead, religious church.
I can just see in my mind’s eye many unbelievers who hated Christians, staggering around in the darkness of a church-less tribulation wishing the light of the church was back here to shed some light and resolve into their deep despair!
John 3:21 “He who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”
Proverbs 4:18 (Amp) “The path of the uncompromisingly just and righteous is like the light of dawn that shines more and more – brighter and clearer – until it reaches its full strength and glory in the perfect day.”

NASA put out an alert this last week confirming that the world will experience total darkness between December 16 – December 22, 2020.The world will remain dark for these 6 days, completely void of sunlight, due to a solar storm which will cause dust and space debris to block 90% of the sun.

NASA urges American’s to remain calm as we experience the largest solar storm our solar system has seen in 250 years. Despite these 6 days of darkness, officials say they do not expect Earth to experience any major problems. However, they do encourage you to listen to any emergency preparedness message if given and be proactive for any possible occurrence.
” We will solely rely on artificial light for the 6 days,” says NASA scientist Earl Godoy. “Stocking up on light bulbs, flashlights, water and food would be the best way to start preparing.”
These six days of darkness will be on the pagan as well, what desperate thoughts are they going to have when our source of light on the planet diminishes. This I believe will be a forerunner of things to come on the earth, a taste if you will, of what will happen right before our Lord returns in splendid glory at Armageddon.
Matthew 24:29-30, “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
This solar storm will be but a forerunner of what the earth will experience at the end of great tribulation. Prepare yourself now, become rapture ready. Maranatha……….
