Most Evangelicals can get on board with this one...

This is not true, Christmas has been banned or discouraged in at least 8 countries. Your title is misleading!

As a Christian, I can say I do enjoy celebrating Christmas. It's been said, "Without the Nativity, the Resurrection could not have occurred. Without the Resurrection, the Nativity had no meaning." Having said that, I despise the gross commercialization that's been made of both holidays, but, alas, I confess, I have to plead guilty on this one as well. There are so many people I love, and I'd love to give them the world. But there is no gift that can beat the gift of a Son Who gave His life so we could enjoy forgiveness of our sins and an eternity with Him.

We feel the same way....

I've never understood the stance that because Christmas has pagan features it cannot be celebrated as a Christian celebration....

Boast: I get two Christmases, thanks to my Russian friends

Yet, the title is clear "The only group to ban Christmas were Christians." In case you are not aware, the puritans arose from within the Church of England. They were not isolated to Massachusetts.

People who post such bull shit need to vet them! If they are inaccurate, it makes the poster appear sloppy at the minimum and at worse a liar. Either way, when seen, viewers should stop the spread of misinformation or damnable lies.

It is accurate that the Puritans banned Christmas as a sort pagan holiday. Christ was born in the spring, not the winter. and taking a tree into the house during the winter solstice has it's roots in ancient Germanic idolatry.

The meme is talking about America, not 8 other countries. Christmas is an outgrowth of the pagan holidays surrounding the winter solstice. Christians wanted to celebrate Christ's birthday though so one day being as good as another December the 25th became Christ's birthday. Now would you like to hear Easters tie-in to paganism or would you like to stop while you are behind?

Celebrating on Pagan holidays helped to integrate pagan religions into Christianity so in the end there was a method to the madness...
