Walgreens remains "Patriotic"

Despite investor complaints, Walgreens has decided to remain an "American" company. Since more than 2/3 of their revenue come from government programs, management feared the consumer backlash more than they feared investors and high taxes. The company will still make a tidy profit from buying AllianceBoots and keeping it's European profits off-shore.

So, a company which stays in the USA, and pays higher taxes, and makes less profit, thus the shareholders (you know those people whose retirements are in stocks and mutual funds) receive less in dividends is patriotic? Leaving the USA, with it's higher taxes, and burdening government regulations, and relocating to another country in order to provide more for their shareholders is unpatriotic? More in the shareholders pockets, more taxes are paid, and more money is retained here in the USA, but that is unpatriotic? Hmmmmmmm, something' is seriously wrong in your thinking.

Don't forget this is the same company that got caught double billing a few years back. I'm sure the share holders didn't mind since they benefitted from it.

Many people who like to point out our tax structure also like to forget we have the most tax laws of any country to prevent those same companies bitching about tax rates being so high pay much less than they should. These same companies will never be satisfied until their tax bill is zero. I wonder if most people have enough brains to realize who will make up the difference to the treasury?

According to some who post here, cut "entitlements", shrink the federal government, because not all citizens are worthy of the same protections, and by all means, shift the cost burden to the states, where big government must be OK

Our posts??? I don't think so, pal. You don't like my posts because they don't espouse your left-wing Kool-Aid view point... you know, typical left-wing B.S..

DJRich, Retired669, you folks must be early products of Common Core math standards. Businesses lobby Congress for tax breaks and tax shelters and then take advantage of them as they had hoped to be able to do. If you want to see equity you're going to have to get the tax code revised to level the playing field. All of your frothy emotional rationalizations get no one anywhere.

Didn't take long for the name calling to start.

Not surprisingly coming from a "genius" conservative expert on everything.

Support free speech much. do ya?

"Name calling?" I don't think so. Just calling them as they are seen.

My reply was to a so called genius know-it-all, who really knows next to nothing about anything. Like his right wing media heroes, especially limbaugh, beck and hannity

Say what you want, but it doesn't take much of a genius to know more than you, pal.

You bet I listen to Limbaugh...the man who has the largest talk radio audience in the country, and has an accuracy rating of 99.7%. Something that NONE of your left-wing heroes can even come close to.

I commend you for self-identification. And so when you are called an idiot, you must wear that label proudly
