[quote=moldyoldy]Facts are not idiotic.
Facing a budget crisis, Alabama has shuttered 31 driver's license offices, many of them in counties with a high proportion of black residents. Coming after the state recently put into effect a tougher voter ID law, the closures will cut off access -- particularly for minorities -- to one of the few types of IDs accepted.

So it affected all people in those counties - not just minorities. And your other examples also effect everybody.

Hard to label that as ‘racist’ - except to ELWNJ, who see racist everywhere.

The gop does not care if a few whites don’t get to vote, as long as they can eliminate most minority voter.

The 2020 Federal Elections has proven there needs to be an Amendment to the USA Constitution establishing concrete times and dates for all Federal Elections.

Allowing Individual States to change the Congressionally passed Federal Election Dates, dates that all 50 States must abide by, is wrong. It makes Federal Election Dates a suggestion rather than a certainty. And Federal Judicial determinations to change Federal Election Date counting allows the Judicial Branch of the Federal Government to set Federal Election Dates, a right of Congress, of the Legislative Branch, Constitutionally has.

And an Amendment is the clearest way to future Federal Elections not going thru another 2020 fiasco.

NO state, no district changed the voting date.. what you are upset about it the time required to count the votes..

every voter should be counted.. that is not just lip service but a fact per the constitution and the law of our land..

Any vote cast up to the end of polls open on the Nov 3rd deserves and is legally bound to be counted..

I you are not in favor of states right in this matter when you are in seemingly every other issue. Perhaps you should ask yourself why...

The Constitution gives that authority to the States alone. Where are all the "smaller government" people now? What happened to the chants about "government overreach"?

You people don't want the government monitoring or modifying YOUR behaviors, but insist that the government monitor and modify OTHER people's behaviors.......................when they don't act the way you'd like.

I won't even bother to respond to that.

Maybe because it is everywhere. Americas favorite pastime. Fear of the fact that Hispanics will soon be the majority here.

‘Hispanic’ is not a race.

Doesn't make any difference, Democrats can use whatever they want. They don't have to be reasonable.

Election honchos have said the 2020 election was the smoothest run, best organized election this country has seen in many decades. I think we ought to go ALL mail-in balloting.

But that doesn’t mean it was the most secure and protected.

If what we're going through is the smoothest run election then I would hate to see a poorly run one. You simply cannot be serious about the mail-in ballot remark. As a long time teacher, I believe you can see the inherent danger in it and I really don't think you believe it's racism either, do you?

It’s racist because of how the right implements these things. They make it obvious that they are targeting minorities, by closing offices that issue IDs. Forcing people to travel to other towns to try to get one. Restricting what is acceptable to prove who you are. Many city dwellers do not drive because public transport is better. Some states wanted NRA cards as ID. If you want a national voter card, stop trying to block people from getting one. The courts have pointed out this practice.

That is no excuse. These same people manage to get IDs for govt. programs. Mexico has voter ID.

This excuse has been used for years, never has been true. You can get any kind of ruling you want in court, if you manage to get a case tried in the “right” court for the decision you want. Look @ The Ninth Circuit Court’s record. You liberal/leftists have no trouble providing transportation for same day registration so you could provide transportation for IDs if you wanted legal elections.

Where we live there are several agencies that provide free transportation, including law enforcement.

You will lose in the end because everyone is going to have a chip tag. Are you going to scream “racist” then?

They don’t need to be a race, the various Latinos will ultimately be the majority. Deal with it. The same way you overran the native Americans.

All the stupid dust-ups surrounding the 2020 election stem from Trump saying for a year or two that if he's not re-elected in 2020, the election will be fraudulent. And even now with Biden at 304 electorals, Trump refuses to recognize the fact that he lost--and probably never will.
