You are making no sense and your stance isn't biblical.

God has the power to punish those He disagrees with...

The idea that we as Christians have the right to force our moral standards on others is horrendously wrong...

Disagrees with? He is always right. And your answer still makes no sense. He lets us choose whether or not to obey.

Thats not the issue. If you would have no problem condoning that sin thats your choice. This person wouldn’t do it which is commendable. Thats not forcing a moral standard. Its standing up for whats right. Obeying God is never wrong.

I don't need to condone it to carry out my duties... Issuing a government permit or license in no way contradicts God's laws... It's not participating or supporting...

Forcing others to obey God is wrong... It eliminates free will...

Yes you would be condoning it if you handed them out. Your argument isn’t biblical. They will still be able to pursue their sin but you should never be an enabler

It's not enabling them...

Do you think that if I don't hand them the paper they will suddenly realize that tacos are preferable to hotdogshotdogs???

Read the OT... Plenty of other religions were allowed in Jerusalem... And the only time God had an issue were when the Jews were worshipping at them... God is fine with people choosing sin, and even living among His followers... The OT laws applied to Jews and Jews alone... Which us why gay greeks were never stoned... Learn from this example...

Are you worried that if gay men can get marriage licenses from the government, some good Christians might suddenly have an epiphany

Yes it is condoning the sin.

“God is fine with people choosing sin”

Of course he isn’t. He hates sin. Its why Christ saved us. If he were fine with people choosing sin he’d never have sent him.

I don’t know where you get the idea that God is okay with sin and your examples don’t show that at all.

It's called free will... It was a gift that we had to steal, admittedly... But it's ours...

God is omnipotent... He has the ability to destroy sin... It wouldn't be difficult...

It is not for us to condone or judge the lawful actions of others... We can refuse to participate, but cannot extend that to others against their will...

I'm not talking about forcing others to believe because that can't be done.

You either believe the word of God or you don't. There are no "ifs", "ands" or "buts". There are no end arounds. Sin is sin, unbelief is unbelief. There is only one God and only one way to him - through Christ. There is no other way. Islam is a pathway to eternal damnation as is every other false religion.

Kim Davis was not trying to force anyone to do anything against their will. The people in this case who were trying to force someone against their will were the gay couple. Davis was not judging anyone, she simply refused to issue marriage licenses to two men who wanted to marry each other because she deeply believed it was against God's will. When told she had to obey the authorities, she said she was obeying God's authority. Those of us who are Christians believe that God's authority supersedes all others. She spent 5 days in jail for her beliefs. She is to be greatly admired for persevering under immense pressure.

Off topic... Islam was a different thread... This one is gay marriage...

Sin is sin... Agreed...

But issuing a government license is not condoning the sin...

She didn't have the right to refuse... She could exercise her free will and resign from her position if it went against her beliefs...

Christians are responsible for enforcing God's laws on themselves... Not on others...

You are the last person to tell anyone about going off topic.

Yes it is condoning the sin. As I said, you either believe or you don't. There are no end arounds and no in betweens.

From a different thread...

To the editor: Why can't counties just stop issuing "marriage licenses" and start recording only "domestic partnership agreements" instead? It would allow people to spell out their legal and financial relationship without all the religious and social baggage that comes from the word "marriage."

Many people could obviously still have weddings and become "married" in the eyes of whatever church or community they are part of, but the county would not need to look over their shoulders.

Reynold Blight, Los Angeles

Seems fine by me...
