Who comes up with this crap? "1. YOUR child may be removed from school and sent for an involuntary psychiatric examination without your knowledge or consent. The school is only required to notify a parent AFTER an involuntary examination has been initiated.
2. Once your child is sent for an involuntary psychiatric examination, the psychiatric facility has to initiate the examination of your children within 12 hours but still has 72 hours to conduct the examination."
So, is this saying my child could be in the nut case's custody for up to 72 hours? You Floridians best get a handle on this bull crap.

Florida has the worst school systems, and the worst domestic relations laws as it relates to children. My niece was embroiled in a horrendous divorce down there in 2010. It was brutal. My great nephew was Baker Acted. It actually worked in his favor because it got him out of the clutches of his adoptive father (my niece's husband had adopted him) and because he owned a business and his parents are rich the Court and Guardian decided he should have custody. And he's a coke head, which is why they were getting divorced cuz he turned into such a spaz. It was nightmarish.

Sheesh! Sounds like it. I love the gulf coast of FL, but sounds like it might not be the best place to raise kids. Mine are all grown and have their own grandkids and they won't be moving to FL.

The school system area I live in has some of the highest rated public and private schools in the country. Florida as you know, near the coasts are beautiful. The politics and regs in Florida are whack.
